February 22nd marks the 7-year anniversary of the CroatianSoccerReport/ CroatianSports.com launch back in 2008.
First and foremost, Denis and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the site by writing an article, leaving a comment, spreading the kind word or directing healthy criticism our way. (We know it comes with the territory being Croatian, no hard feelings)
As we look to innovate ourselves through a live radio show (podcast) later in the year, we would like to take this time to recognize the guys that work week in and week out to keep this site running. Because CroatianSports.com runs on nothing but passion through community.
Thank you Matt “GoldenChild” Lebo, Dr. Colin O’ Haravić, Zach Gilfix, Allen “Outraged” Strk and Mike “Crippler” Rožić for your continued work on the website.
Next stop: Denis and I will be covering the BNP Paribas tennis tournament in Indian Wells, CA in March. Every major tennis player in the world is expected to be there.
Well done boys, keep it up, For my home I am ready mate, i’ll keep it aussie so I don’t get banned from next world cup like big Joe!
We are getting so much spam these days so all of the comments coming in with URLs will go into the spam folder. Please let us know and we will look for your comment and un-spam it. Also, please sign in and use one user name if possible. This will prevent your comments from going into the spam folder in the future. thanks.
Congrats boys…all the best in the next 7 years!! Keep growing, keep evolving.
Congrats decki, can’t believe its been 7 years!!!!!
I dont think NK will call them They are not Mamic players so look for When Livakovic transfers to Dinamo in the summer he will be a goalkeeper called. Pjaca Coric Simunovic will be on national team long list. I think NK has his 15 main players and he will not build a team for 2016 a 11 with too much dead weight isnt good look at wc 2014 too much dead weight in 11 in all 3 games. Pletikosa Pranjic Olic Jelavic even Srna at times. 2016 again Olic everyones legend on this site is dead weight imo. So inconclusion i dont see NK building for 2016 if he did the players he would look at this point and time for norway are Subasic Srna Vrsaljko Corluka Jedvaj Vida Lovren Strinic Modric Brozovic Perisic Kovacic Rakitic Mandzukic Kramaric Santini
As long as a goalie is steady, dependable, and doesn’t make any errors–that’s the key. Subasic is an integral part of our team’s spine, it all starts with him.
And Look out Norway, here we come. Not even your enormous sovereign wealth fund can save you now. (Well, unless you bribe the refs, lol).
I watched the first half of the Monaco game and Serb Subasic was good. I don’t recall any outstanding saves, but didn’t see any errors either. Arsenal was sleep walking in the first half.
Anonymous,
Jedvaj is out due a harmstring injury right now but to be honest: I don’t think he is good enough to play LB for now. He’s still young, he makes mistakes. Even as a CB or RB, he’ll have a hard time. As a RB I personally think he could the job.
Let’s hope Strinic will be okay for our next games.
that would be great if subasic plays in the final 8 great for his confidence for us in the future and brings up that question what if he played for us against brazil? could have swayed the game a bit different
wow as soon as i said that arsenal scores but then monaco gets another one as well!!
would take a miracle i think for arsenal to go into monaco and score that many with that stingy defence
damn monaco about to walk away with 2-0 win against arsenal
only assuming subasic in goal… ok i need to know is he playing this well or is his defence that darn good or combo??
Mr. Black you sure know your shit… nice to know this young kid playing CB has some potential…
I think the future of our defence is looking better then years past
Jedvaj is going to own that backfield for us
ok here is serious question… could jedvaj take pranjic spot or can he not play on that left side… seems like he is super versatile
Definitely a hard game to endure but the 3:0 win in Turkey more than made up for it.
Mangup,
I wonder if Kovac will take Caleta-Car and Marko Maric.
Caleta-Car is only 18 years old but he’s already the CB at Casino Salzburg, the best team in Austria. They even do well in Europe.
Marko Maric is the goalie of Rapid Vienna. He’s only 19 and he’s doing very well.
could never get over that… I mean it was a tough game to lose, but save that shit for the locker room dude
Plakao?!
Norway game is soon so lets talk lineup candidates i think subasic srna corluka vida lovren pranjic strinic modric brozovic perisic kovacic rakitic kramaric olic mandzukic most likely will be in 11
@HAET you typed in the wrong URL again, this is CroatianSPORTS.com not CroatianPolitics.com or CroatianRaceWars.com
Happy birthday!

@ CSR
Hvala lipa dečki .
My Son recently turned 7 as well and this site has been there through out his whole life.
I remember the first time seeing Denis and Ante in Alpine Village interviewing each other talking about the national team. I was so proud that two diaspora Hrvati were creating something positive and hilarious for the the Croatian community.
@ Svima
To all my brothers and sisters who have contributed your self expression to the site I thank you for celebrating who you are as a Hrvat in this world.

rakitic with some nifty moves
congrats! great job on the site!
Job well done CSR! Great site!
Not only that but SEVEN goals were scored by our Croatians in European leagues this weekend to celebrate CSR’s anniversary: Santini (4), Mandzu (1), Pertric (1), and Jelavic (1).
Coincidence? I think not. Something tells me Zach, Denis, Ante and Co. put them up to it. 🙂
Do you really think someone would get into a fight over being asked an idiotic question????? So, they can’t control their emotions. Come on, that would be easy to handle.
Happy B-Day To the site. I love you guys ( you also know who I am).
Thanks for everything.
@Anonymous,
Why don’t you sign in? We all know who you are.
Damn! Ziva is turning 14 this weekend. We should have planned something together at a Hungry Jacks or something.
Anyhow,congrats!
What this site has done is prove that diaspora male croats are just as cowardly, stupid, and dishonest as most of the rest of “humanity”. This is proven and summed up by the fact that only certain comments were erased and elicited such vitriol with the excuse that “politics isn’t permitted on this site”; when the fact is that it’s not that politics isn’t permitted, it’s that a certain kind of politics isn’t permitted: that is the politics of what is essentially wanting to preserve the Croatian people – which is politically incorrect. You’re only allowed by the Thought Police’s toadies to want to preserve the Croatian flag. Blood is inconsequential, but a pretty design and pretty colors is worth fighting for!
The eternal cry of the cowards: “nothing can ever happen to us!” That explains why despite the fact the very town you grew up in went from being mostly White to mostly non-white, you pretend nothing is happening because that would require you to have to muster up the slightest bit of courage and pull your heads out of your asses.
One faggot who goes around wearing a croatian soccer jersey even stated care freely that due to outside forces Croatia’s eminent demise was “inevitable”. Go figure.
me above
off topic but great pics

ok new fundraising idea everyone throw down and get ticket for ziva to go to this tennis tournament to ask doper cilic all these questions… actually the goran interview would be better as i think goran would snap on him nicely
@ Ziva
you would not have the nuts to ask Goran backhanded questions like that on camera, I guaren-fuckin-tee it.
Congratulations guys!!!!!
Thank you guys!
Ante, how could you forget prva generacija and the brains of the operation?
I can’t believe its been 7 years already. Time flies when you’re getting old I guess.
They say a person changes every 7 years. Whats in store for the next seven years?
Also, What would you like to see from the website? What changes should we make?
Lastly, we are always hiring young, motivated writers. Share your passion with us. I have a baby on the way, who knows how long I can do this for. Shoot me an email denis@croatiansports.com
Looking forward to the next 7 years.
@Ziva Istina,
shoot me an email. I will put up an Indian Wells post in the next seven days or so.
@nepoznat……..doubtful, most 6-yr olds are star struck (then again when they have jock sniffing adults all around them what would you expect), so the odds of them asking questions that can make a person squirm or uncomfortable are limited.
I can gaurentee you that asking Doper CIlic a question if he dopes or uses performance enhancers will make him uncomfortable and will draw more eyeballs to the video and it would get picked up by more media in Cro than lets say a question about how he is recovering from his injury.
Heck, if Goran is there I would ask a question about financial tips.
Congrats to this site and the guys! When we agree, we agree but when we disagree, ‘bem ti svega. 7 years ago? Those were the days. Wish you continued success (and arguments) for many years to come.
^ I’m sure they have local 6 year olds who can come up with equally pressing & forced-humor-yet-lacking-amusement type questions… then again one difference is it would come without the appearance of the kids trying too hard
Let me know if you need suggested questions while you are at the tennis tournament. Always happy to hellp out.
Congrats, boys!
I’m waiting on 2 big pieces:
Exclusive interview with Z. Mamic
Ziva’s ‘unmasking’
The internet existed seven years ago? Wow I feel old.
Congrats guys! Don’t stop. Excited to keep this going.
Shady dealings

Congrats.
Keep it up. I really adore this site.
Hvala CSR gang!
Next time give us prva generacija members a group shout out 😀
also it would be great to get an throw back video from Ante & Denis commenting on & recapping the Norway game next month, for old time sakes!
Thanks to all the boys who keep this site going!
7 years old!?!
Damn I’ve wasted a lot of time on here..
Happy birthday boys!
All the best and keep it up!
