While Ante Kvartuč is still recovering from a ginormous hangover after Croatia stunned the world by coming back and defeating defending Euro Cup champion Spain last Tuesday in Bordeaux, CroatianSports.com will once again team up with St. Anthony’s Croatian Catholic Church in downtown Los Angeles to co-host a watch party for the EURO 2016 round of 16 do or die match against Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal. The match takes place on Saturday, June 25th with a noon kickoff time, however, we encourage all to come an hour early. Croatians and friends of all ages are welcome. We expect a capacity audience so please RSVP on our Facebook page.

The game will be shown in Croatian in the main hall via projector. The bar will be open and čevape will be on the grill. There is no cover charge. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Denis@CroatianSports.com.

Croatia-Brazil a few years back at St. Anthony’s with our very own Allen Strk making the trip from NY.

However, don’t expect any media to be there this time. Sorry.

Email us your viewing party venues. We will post them on the site. denis @ croatiansports.com

Refs for the game. Does a Spanish ref work for or against us?

    25/06: Croatia v Portugal
    Referee: Carlos Velasco Carballo (ESP)
Given the honour of refereeing the opening game of UEFA EURO 2012 between Poland and Greece, Velasco Carballo oversaw the 2011 UEFA Europa League final and Brazil’s quarter-final with Colombia at the 2014 World Cup.

Assistant referees: Roberto Alonso Fernández (ESP), Juan Carlos Yuste Jiménez (ESP)
Additional assistant referees: Jesús Gil Manzano (ESP), Carlos del Cerro Grande (ESP)
    Fourth official: Viktor Kassai (HUN)
    Reserve official: György Ring (HUN)

  3. Mishko says:

Just a little homework on Carlos and it seems he’s a card happy psycho. He could potential screw us in the match after Portugal via yellow card accumulation.

  4. NK Susak says:

When do cards actually get wiped away? Perisic picked one up for removing his jersey after the goal against Spain. You really cant blame him in the spur of the moment, but hope something like that doesnt bite us in the ass moving forward if in fact we do beat Portugal.

  5. Bobby V says:

@ Milan – I live in Beverly,Massachusetts, just north of Boston – not many Croatians in New England, don’t know about any regular place.

    Milan

I’m in Rhode Island. I know there are some Bosanci in the Boston area, but no Croat groups that I know of. Best bet is to go to NYC.

I’m frequently in Boston. I tried seeing if anyone on here was up for meeting up to watch the world cup 2 years ago, and nothing came of it. Ended up watching with my one Croatian friend that has since moved back to Chicago.
