Marko Pjaca of Dinamo Zagreb sets a new HNL with his hefty price tag as he departs the Modri for the Italian giants, Juventus.
The 21-year-old Pjaca heads to Serie A for the reported amount of 23 million euros, which roughly equals $25 million. This makes him the most expensive transfer in HNL history.
The previous record was held by Luka Modric’s 21 million euro transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in 2009.
Here is a list of Dinamo’s top 10 biggest transfers:
1. Marko Pjaca – Juventus 2016 – €23 milion
2. Luka Modrić – Tottenham 2009 – €21 milion
3. Eduardo da Silva – Arsenal 2008 – €13.5 million
4. Vedran Ćorluka – Manchester City 2008 – €13 million
5. Mateo Kovačić – Inter 2011 – €11 million
6. Josip Brekalo – Wolfsburg 2016 – €10 million
7. Dejan Lovren – Lyon 2010 – €8 million
8. Jozo Šimunović – Celtic 2015 – €8 million
9. Boško Balaban – Aston Villa 2001 – €7.8 million
10. Mario Mandžukić – Wolfsburg 2010 – €7 million
@Soul Champ,
I wouldn’t mind seeing Perisic up front.
Yes, Dalmacija along with Dubrovnik is jam packed. Good time for me to get the f up outta there.. My little girl(celebrated her first birthday last week in dubrovnik) had a blast.
and i was ok with lovren staying out of the line up… but you would think he could have nailed one of those chances vida had in that portugal game…
not taking anything away from vida… dude played hard and he shouldn’t be relied upon to win a game for us but lovren does have that wild card factor that can score at any time
i hope he can get back into the team
we ain’t exactly oozing defenders like midfielders
we can all agree we need to mix it up up front with the striker role
kalinic did well when given the chance but he ain’t the long term solution… super mario if he wants to take on more bench role… he could stick around for a while, but we do need something fresh there.
we have enough quality in the midfield to hold up or regain posession if the kids up front take a bit too many chances
but im sure we would all agree we should have tried harder for the kill against portugal and i still say we should have opened it up earlier in the match then wait for extra time for the kill… at least if we got caught on the counter earlier in the game we could have done something
that last few minutes we had portugal running scared, but it took desperation from us to get to that part… we need to play with that hunger all the time…
you see it in all sports… teams get complacent going for tie or holding on to small lead… you have to make the kill like a wolf, never taking chance that the prey will get away
im feeling confident our guys will be back for world cup and i agree with others… a tough group is what we need to stay sharp and not become complacent
i for sure would give perisic a chance up front… he is a beast…i believe the portugal game humbled him a bit and i hope he will use that experience to become the killer he can be
@ Denis
Yes … who can figure out the Mickey Mouse club house that is HNS. Šteta … Finally have a deep talent pool and we come to the Euro’s without our stud CB. Halilovic could have played a part as well. Especially against Portugal, that game was screaming for attack winger on the right side!
Has it now gotten really crowded in Dalmacija?
@ Horvat
Spicy inquiry …
Šuker as a player had feet like hands!
His smooth movements were transcendent, his finishing was sublime.
Perišić is a dynamic beast who still has another level in him if he can get to the right club.
Tell you this … I would slap #9 on his back and play him as an out an out striker … Nothing false about his beast mode infront of goal.
If course, they are very different types of players.
How many people think Perisic is just as good as Suker was at the moment?
I’m not 100% sure I would prefer to have Suker over Perisic right now.
@brkic,
Good comment. I agree 100%.
@soul champ,
Who knows what really happened with lovren vs cacic.from the looks of things, cacic didnt value our best defender on paper or he receieved orders elsewhere.
I believe a team should play to its strengths. We don’t have the back line to keep clean sheets consistently, so we should make the most of our midfield creativity. What upset me about the Portugal game is that we didn’t take the game to them. I have no issue playing Perisic or Pjaca as a “false 9”. Halilovic may even be that player, but a solo striker is not going to cut it and neither is playing Kalinic and Mandzukic together because we would be leaving too much talent on the bench.
Lovren can be a bonehead at times, but he’s also the closest thing we have to a shut down defender. I’m less concerned about defenders who can get forward and cross the ball and more concerned about a disciplined back 4.
@Soul Champ
100% agree with you on that
@ CP85
Perišić is the Most dynamic scorer in the squad for the past TWO YEARS!
*Belgium’s
Finally someone who agrees Perisic can play as a striker/second striker. Remember guys, Perisic had the record for most goals in a season in the Belgian Jupiler league (Belgians top division) and also was the youngest player to hold that record, until Lukaku recently broke it a few years back. His natural position is second striker so he can do it. Now does Croatia play with 2 strikers is another question
@ Svima
Lovren should of have been sit down by Cacic in private and brought back into the fold. I hope Cacic can offer an olive branch to get this stud who is now in his prime and has less boneheadedness in his game.
Halilovic needs to get back in the squad. His dribble attack would have made a difference against Portugal.
I say play Perišić up top and Pjaca and Halilovic on the wings.
Kovačić needs back in the rotation as well.
Vrsaljko ready at RB.
Bring along some young LB stud.
Sosa has got the goods.
I hope we can get in a friendly before the Turkey match.
I am glad we have a strong group to bring out our best on a consistent basis.
@maminjo,
Including coric, rog, pjaca on the final roster sheet didnt bother me. Dropping halilovic didnt bother me. Dropping lovren upset me since we are thin in defense. Luckily, we didnt have any injuries.
What through me overboard is that pjaca didnt play the first 90 minutes and from what i read there wasnt any explanation why from cacic.
cop to gijon
I’m being sarcastic. 😉
I’m just demonstrating the constantly changing narrative.
For example, it was a travesty that Pjaca was picked over Halilovic, then it was a travesty that Pjaca started against Spain, then it was a travesty that Pjaca DIDN’T start against Portugal.
So…Mamic was at fault for all three, but only when each of those decisions were at their least popular moment in time.
Halilovic better player than Pjaca? I think you mean prior to Euros. I’m still optimistic about Halilovic, but there isn’t any logical reasoning behind rating him over Pjaca.
I guess cutting Modric would be too obvious that it was a Mamic call. But cutting a Liverpool player like Lovren from our roster of depleted defenders would be easier to justify so it had to happen. Great Mamic call.
Also, forcing Cacic to call up Pjaca instead of Halilovic was an obvious Mamic call, as Halilovic is obviously the better player and didn’t want to give Mamic money or whatever it is that happened there (I dunno for sure).
Also, playing Pjaca and Rog in that Spain game was an obvious Mamic call despite them replacing guys who were on yellow cards. Both players playing amazingly well though.
Also, not playing Pjaca in the Portugal game for fear of stinking it up since he played so amazing in the Spain game was a good Mamic call too…but he was still included in the end of that Portugal game…but not enough time to ruin his appearance in the previous game. Great Mamic call again.
Forcing Coric into the squad…another great Mamic call. Normally someone who gets forced into the squad would actually play a few minutes, but Coric would have probably been so terrible if he did play (just like Pjaca and Rog), so again, very crafty of Mamic to leave the mystery there for potential buyers by forcing Cacic to not play him. Excellent Mamic call.
Why didn’t Mamić have Modrić cut from the team for testifying against him?
here we go again, once again we have to hear about the influence that mamic had on the lovren desicion
carry on with your narrative
@idemo,
You make a good point that the federation would still be corrupt with or without Mamic. Markovic didn’t do much as president of the HNS but he didn’t cater to Dinamo/Mamic.
I remember back in WC 98 Petar Krpan was included on the WC roster for quick sale to Sporting Portugal. However, Krpan played a few garbage minutes in one game at WC 98 from what I remember. Today, The national team is used as a money machine. Who knows how much influence Mamic had in the final decision to let Lovren go?
.
I dont thunk they’re not coming due to corruption in the HNS, i think they’re not turning out due to mamic, while those 2 go hand in hand the federation would still be corrupt without without mamic.
@idemo,
You make a good point as far as quality, but people in Croatia are tuning out because of the corruption in the hnl.
yes, hajduk dynamo fell off because of hajduks plummet, but at the same time, people are tuning out because of corruption.
Why are dinamo fans tuning out? Why are the BBB staying home?
@denis
I get what you’re saying I really do, but I think you can agree that poor attendance domestically doesn’t speak towards our NT, why would I go watch istra when I can watch Barca on tv.
Indoor lol, that was the BBB way of staying active during protest they also showed up to a bunch of u-12 games
As a hajduk fan, Hajduk Dinamo fell off because of Hajduks plummet
19 years ago today…
5:0.
Well they will surely be awesome now that Mamić is gone 😉
@idemo,
I bought my tickets off ebay germany. Yes, i understand that people make peanuts in croatia. However, we are a football country like mexico. Mexicans work as street sweepers, bus boys, dishwashers, and maids. They just like croatians would put their months salary down to watch their country play.
Im not sure how things are in zagreb, but in dalmatia, people watched on tv. France is a day car ride away. Croatians from criatia made the trip to japan to watch croatia back in 2002.
Small domestic league yes and the hnl will never be the premierleague. But im talking about ‘interest’. Ticket prices at hnl games are $2. Some people dont care bevause if the quality others dont care because of match fixing and suker_mamic.
Why is medvescak hockey so popular in zagreb? Because if the fans. I watched them several times. I watched them wheb they sucked bad and the fans would cheer when we got scored on. Great atmosphere.
I remeber hearing how the indoor soccer dinamo team is heavily supported by the bbb and the atmosphere is insane.
I took the navijacki train from zagreb to klagenfurt for croatia poland i believe. Train was full of bbb members. They asked my friend and i if we followed hajduk. We said that we just follow the national team. We lartied with them for hours on the train. No problems at all besides the train shaking like a boat.
Hajduk dinamo games were awesome in the 90s and early 2000s. Not any more.
Is that what you paid someone or what you paid UEFA? Because euro 2012 was far less pricier than 2016
2012 cat 1 group stage ticket was 120 euro in France it was 165
Opening match in 2012 was a mere 250 compared to France and let’s not get started on the final.
Some people back home don’t make 165 euros in 2 weeks.
we’re from a small country with a small domestic league. We’ll never be like the prem.
@pjaca bust,
This kid is the real deal. Can he be a bust? Of course. Its all up to him and his work ethic.
@idemo,
Tickets were expensive? I paid 250 euro for cro brazil in 2006 and that was considered a steal. I paid 400 euro or 500 euro for cro japan. Euro 2008 i paid 200 euro for cro poland and cro austria. Cro germany was pricey. Euro 2016 had 50 euro tickets to most of their games. It was funny how most of the diaspora was approved for tickets while some people in croatia were denied.
@toni’
Im on the island of mljet right now having a drink. The last thing that im thinking about is croatian football. Watched hajduk on a 10 in tv lasr night.
@allen dz,
When i wrote ‘croatians have lost interest in croatian football’ i didnt mean just the national team. I meant the hnl. I used rnk split as an example, but you can look at most of the teams attendance and you will find high school soccer attendance numbers.
The national team will always get love. But its not the same without torcida and bbb.
The problem there isn’t depth, it’s class.
Giroud is carrying too much of the load, they could use another option like mandzu
Giroud and Mandzukic way to similar not a good move for Arsenal
Mandžukic to arsenal??? Very possible,and kovačic to west ham or Everton also very possible, wouldn’t be upset with these moves, anyone else agree??
ding ding ding… the first pjaca bust guy!! ziva i know its you;)
thought kovacic was going to go elsewhere?
so when does the transfer date close for the start of the season? and then there is one during winter… what are the dates on that?
sorry again i am not “learned” in soccer just from what i get from you guys
@ Denis Svirčić you said Pjaca will be a star it’s not written in the stars. 46′
Mateo Kovacic
Martin Oedegaard the Norwegian came on for Kovacic another one of our players who has been disappointing. I remember when some of you guys said Kovacic would become a star still haven’t seen it espeically for Croatia.
plenty Croatia Jersies today at Real vs PSG
Kovacic looked fresh
That video above is awesome.
I recommend Ziva and Ante watch it.
Unintentional insult! Pure gold
Country has not lost interest but some want to spin it a certain way.
^^^^^ facts….http://www.croatiaweek.com/video-croatian-team-surprised-by-large-welcome-in-zagreb/
If the country lost interest in the NT, why was the airport completely packed when the national team arrived home? All the players were swarmed after coming home from the Euros.
“It’s funny how the Serbs love Mamic.”
Hands down the most unintentional insult made on this site. Don’t you love him too having his namesake and all? Uh oh. 🙂
@idemo
I have news apps that search for “Croatia” as a key word.
Unfortunately, Serbian news portals are flat out obsessed with Croatia, so I end up getting just as many news articles about Croatia from Serbian news portals than I do from every other country in the world.
If that country spent as much time obsessing about their own country than ours, it wouldn’t be nearly as fucked up over there.
@denis
Well from what I understand this go around tickets were dumb expensive compared to past tourneys, more came from Hercegovina than Cro in my opinion as well. Paris was great.
How many people come to watch the 6ers vs the Suns? Is that a good barometer for USA national team basketball?
Like I said the casual fan doesn’t care to dig that deep, L’s and W’s is all they know.
^^^
why are you on Serbian news portals…….
It’s funny how the Serbs love Mamić.
The comments section on their news portals are filled with “Da nam je jedan Zdravko” comments. LOL.
@denis
The atmosphere at the Spain game was insane. The win and celebration after was crazy. Not just disapora, I came across a lot of Hrvati from back home celebrating hard.
Again you generalize and as for rnk split, that is a commie team, not many people would show up for them. 🙂
@ denis
qualifying for WC starts soon…. is it going to be tough for you to watch and not discuss while the rest of us do?
Juventus has amazing scouting and player development.
They are also pretty shrewd, so they wouldn’t have spent 23 million Euro on a kid they didn’t think they could develop into an excellent player.
Pjaca will be fine.
@bz,
Im not sure about turkey being a bisnian woman. Maybe
@krk and idemo
How many people show up to a rnk split lokomotiva match? For a powerful football country like croatia that is embarrassing or there is something more to the story that most people dont talk about.
Dinamo fans and or bbb are staying home even though their team is on a record run. No interest?
I watched cro at wc2006 and euro 2008. Torcida and bbb was there. Atmosphere was insane. Euro 2016 was mostly dijaspora. Was that because of a lack of interest from croatians in croatia or did šuker tell uefa only to sell tickets to fans outside of croatia?
@pjaca bust
Pjaca will be a star.
Pjaca will be a bust can see it this will be Juventus’s biggest ever mistake.
Croatian sports
@Turkey- I haven’t read any of your long posts, but that ^^ is your best post ever. I know it is authentic. Quick question, Do you call that the Turkey Sandwich?
I just got three fingers up my butt hole.
My sister had to help me spread my cheeks.
@ Mixed Grill – If you want to talk to Luka Misetic directly, let me know – he’ll be glad to explain it to you.
Future star – she’s only 18

@turkey where u at?????
Mixed grill, the more you write, the more of an idiot you are proving yourself to be. You clearly have no concept of legal standards, so you’d best STFU. Let me spell it out slowly so your dumb ass can understand. 1. The Trial Chamber found Tudjman to be a participant in a JCE. 2. The Trial Chamber never said Tudjman was GUILTY of a crime, because Tudjman was not a defendant in the case. 3. The Appeals Chamber just said that not only was Tudjman not found guilty, but also he was not found by the Trial Chamber to have been A PARTICIPANT in the JCE, so there is no longer any court that says that Tudjman was a PARTICIPANT in a JCE, 4. The Appeals Chamber repeated that Tudjman remains presumed innocent, and 5. The ICTY has no need to find Tudjman “not guilty” or “innocent” BECAUSE HE IS ALREADY PRESUMED BY THE ICTY TO BE INNOCENT UNLESS AND UNTIL A PROSECUTOR PROVES BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT THAT HE IS GUILTY. To sum up: Tudjman was at first found by the Tribunal to be a “participant” in a JCE, the Tribunal now says that it has not found him to be a “participant” in a JCE and presumes him to be innocent. Now get lost.
Wow you are brilliant Mike B. Press releases dont determine guilt or innocence. The icty might still considers them part of JCE, they are simply stating that they will not give legal standing to Croatia because as a legal matter it is irrelevant. You can list 1000 people in a Jce, but you only need to prove its existence and the legal liability of those charged and held accountable in a trial. Tudjman etc were not charged and tried, which they are confirming, and only an idiot would count this as a declaration of not guilty. You are out of your depth, so drop it. You remain a moron.
@Ante B.
who cares, we are discussing the talent pool, at the end of the day even rijeka and hajduk do not put up numbers as they did in the past, hnl overall is not a quality product
nvm pop up blocker was off, all is well at batman stream
The site I use to stream has gone to shit, what’s everyone else using
But what do Rijeka and Hajduk produce more than Dinamo? Supporters attending the game.
Agree the entire country does but Dinamo takes it to the next level. Hajduk and Rijeka are not even close.
There is no doubt Dinamo has a world class youth system but the entire country produces successful talent.
@dz
Modric spent 5 years developing at Zadar and one at Dinamo. I give the bulk of the development credit to Zadar.
that is not correct that only zadar developed modric, he spent some time in his youth career with dinamo zagreb
Dinamo continues to be an amazing producing machine of talent. It is not just a matter of buying talent at the end of their youth careers.
Rog-Varazdin
Cop-Hajduk
Vrsajko-Dinamo
with or without Mamic, it’s a business.
It will turn
It will develope
It will churn out.
@toni
The likes of NK Zadar, Hrvatski Dragovoljac, Osijek, & Marsonia have created Croatian talent in our current squad and will continue to do so.
Zadar developed Modric.
Mamic typically buys these talents at they end of their youth careers.
Here is a look at where the talent in our current squad was developed. There will be no downfall of Croatian talent.
Subasic-product of NK Zadar
Corluka- Dinamo Zg
Srna–Metkovic/Hajduk
Vida-Osijek
Strinic-Hajduk
Perisic-Hajduk
Modric-Zadar
Rakitic-Basel
Badelj-Ponikve/NK Zagreb
Brozovic-Hrvatski Dragovoljac
Kovacic-Linz
Pjaca-Dinamo
Mandzukic-Marsonia
Kalinic-Hajduk
Kramaric-Dinamo
Halilovic-Dinamo
Lovren-Karlovac/Dinamo
A full Sjever (dolje) that is. That would make me very happy.
So what does it take for you guys to be happy w/o Mamic? An important lesson to learn: Nothing in life is perfect.
Some of this Croatian on Croatian hating is so similar to Black on Black crime, that I suggest some of you get a DNA test.
https://www.total-croatia-news.com/item/13262-zdravko-mamic-resigns-as-vice-president-of-the-croatian-football-federation
The incentive provided by money IS EXTREME!
it has driven mamic to craft dinamo into a factory of talent production, which has supplied and will continue to supply the national team for years
some fantasize that croatia produces all this talent because the players are croatians….but if that’s the case, where is all the big league talent coming out of nk zadar and rnk split…
there is none
the success of croatian football is entirely centered on the financial aspirations of mamic…. with that gone…prepare for dinamo to look like hajduk in a decade….and with it the downfall of the croatian talent production line
@denis
Are you sure? Just spent 2 months in cro…..seemed pretty feverish with support
Causual fans dont care much about anything off the field
@dennis hes 10000% Serbian so funny I love it
@turkey keep talking I love it…fake ass Italian talking shit under the name turkey hahahahahahah….Croatia has so little to offer right? so why do you even waste your time talking shit lol…oh wait I know…youre bored??
“Croatian people bave lost interest in croatian football.”
No they haven’t. Speak for yourself but do not paint all Croatians with the same brush.
Kranjćar back
@Denis – remember when she (Turkey) first came onto the site and said she was an orthodox bosnian. I haven’t read a post of hers since then.
@turkey,
At least come out and say that you are serbian. I would have more respect for you. Its sad that you hide behind the turkey and italy name. Shiw some love for your country.
@maminjo
You are right. Replacing mamic wont change anything. Another shemp will come in and might be worse. Croatian people bave lost interest in croatian football.
Liberace posters all over your bedroom wall.
turkey just a croat or serb troller
let him be… its like the terrorists… don’t give them their attention
just like a look at me kid at school:)
but now i just gave him attention… doh!
Fuckin Turkey, three posts in a row, must have taken you a few hours, probably wound up with spaghetti all over your white shirt when you finally got done. Culi quadrati the lot of you.
Italy – the Mexico of Europe
Anonymous….I was with your mother last night having roasted pig, and sarma as you guys were arm n arm singing old village songs…remember. ???
THE HOOLIGANS ARE CROATIANS. Give me a break. You idiots are trying to say that Croatians aren’t the ones causing the shit on soccer fields. Can’t even fess up to the stupidity that mama and Tata taught you.
– these cabbage heads are trying to say that other people are pretending to be Croatian and wear that discusting checkered jersey to soccer games and cause shit. You villagers are truly in denial that Croatia has nothing but sarma stewed in pig fat and moonshine that is perfected by Italians. Dumbasses. Keep throwing firebombs and swatzticas in pitches.
–
Here we go….another Croatian star according to Croatians…watch how this kid will do nothing just like the country itself!!!! Just another Croatian looking to bring money home. Do you think they’ll pay him in Kuna.
– hey anonymous …go to the country, are you kidding me….besides the more…what is there to do in Croatia besides looking at shrapnel on walls. A country who’s part of the EU, and still uses Kuna…
– Croatia….please , they are barely on the map.
Ah, fuck, another “greater Croat” discussion. The oldest and most boring topic on this website.
Seems like a lot of cancelled friendlies over the last year… USA, Iran and now England. Freak coincidence or a reflection of the HNS organization?
A long with so many on here who go to the homeland year after year, something im not in a position to do so and are far worse at speaking cro. So if you have corrections lay them out. But you know what was said regardless of any failed padeži, so continue to lick your “Tata’s” šupak
@Anonymous
A great man once said…. “your parents have failed you”.
@Ante B
Well hopefully this FIFA housecleaning trickles down to us, and we try to do the same.
Problem is, I am cynical about whether or not FIFA will actually be that much cleaner after all this, let alone Croatia.
Honestly man, take a Croatian language class. Or at least visit the country once or twice in your lifetime.
Written on phone so it should have been tebi other than that for no formal croatian education what i wrote is way better than some of the shit i see people trying to pass for croatian. Anyways nevermind you are a fan boy of a scumbag and proud of it so power to you and i hope when everythibg sees the light of day you will still support your man
Mamic has resigned so many times from positons at Dianmo and the Savez that I’ve lost count.
…and it only seems that after each announcement, he gets into an even stronger position.
He’s the one guy that I’ll never believe when they say he’s dead – even with an open casket, I’m convinced they’ll just put in a look-alike.
I’ll always have greater faith in that grainy Osama Bin Laden video than anything regarding Croatia’s Donald Trump.
Maminjo,
I think the problem with your Males reference is context. This happened almost five years before the FIFA scandal. Who is to say that it all would’ve been the same if Males did that today? A precedent that Croatian courts can use is what happened to Blatter. That would be the smart thing to do and best place to start. An actual ban.
Talijan,
Thank you very much for your input.
It’s very much appreciated especially since a lot of Croatian players will play in Serie A next season.
I think Pjaca will do fine. I’m more concerned about Mandzukic’s future though.
I can’t wait to see if Andrija Balic will make it at Udinese.
And Bruno Petkovic. I saw some youtube footage of him. It was quite impressing (although it was Serie B). I’d like to see him in Serie A too.
http://www.total-croatia-news.com/item/13262-zdravko-mamic-resigns-as-vice-president-of-the-croatian-football-federation
holy shit that wasn’t even Croatian, Google played you fam
Hey Mixed Grill, the point is that the ICTY initially said in a press release after the trial judgment that Tudjman and Susak WERE members of a JCE. The Appeals Chamber has now said that’s not true. And the Appeals Chamber also says that they remain presumed innocent as a matter of law, MORON.
Mike B. says:
Hey Mixed Grill, Misetic is not being “deliberately misleading.” The Appeals Chamber not only found that Tudjman and Susak were “not guilty,” they also found that the “Trial Chamber made no explicit findings concerning [Tudjman’s, Šušak’s and Bobetko’s] participation in the JCE and did not find [them] guilty of any crimes.” In other words, it is not only true that they are “not guilty,” but also true that there is no finding that they participated in the JCE. So stop talking out of your ass.
You have no idea what you are talking about: they were not found guilty because they were dead and never put on trial.The chamber made no findings as to their participation because it was not necessary to do so. That does not make them not guilty, moron.
I dunno, going micro and expanding to macro can lead to inconsistencies in punishment.
If they are going with a micro to macro approach with Mamic being the first of many arrests, he actually may get a low sentence for some of his crimes as there may be no precedent to base it off of.
It’s kind of like when those refs were caught taking a bribe from Hrvoje Males. It seemed like the judge didn’t know what to sentence them with, so they got like a year or something.
I don’t even care about jail time. I just want to see lifetime bans. But Croatia is a very lenient country when it comes to sentences. They don’t really have a high homicide rate or really any crazy violent crimes like in the rest of the world. I’m expecting a bunch of slaps on the wrist for these guys.
Croatia has a high corruption index, so it’s the system that’s the cause of this.
It’s already obvious that everyone from match officials, players, and club management are corrupt. Removing the most popular and successful one, really won’t change anything.
You can go into a favela in Brazil and execute the most dangerous drug lord, but you’d be a fool to think it would change anything there.
Unless the government steps in and makes some concrete changes to the laws, this won’t change a single thing.
It all depends on your outlook. Do you start fixing the problem from a micro level and expand to the macro level…or vice versa.
http://narod.hr/sport/gordijski-cvor-u-hrvatskom-nogometu-nece-se-prekinuti-odlaskom-zdravka-mamica

Like I said, we’ll see what happens. Given his track record, I doubt it. Hope I’m wrong.
@MIRO
I agree. It’s a hilarious post.
I never understood why dijaspora Croats try and bust out the Croatian in mid-argument, but Google Translate fails them.
@Ante
I was just about to say that the hooligans won’t stop trying to get Cro kicked out of the World Cup because they will come up with conspiracies that he’s still pulling the strings from behind the scenes…then you come out and say it, lol.
However, it’s very possible that he has someone keeping his chair warm until the dust settles.
But even if he is gone, there is no way of proving that he is or isn’t still pulling the strings behind the scenes. That’s the issue. So people will believe what they want to believe, and we’ll probably still see attempts to have us get disqualified.
Wait and see if he’s actually gone. I doubt it. I think him being gone is like him being gone from Dinamo but sticking around as a savjetnik.
Malo morgen.
@anonymous 2:22 am
Great post, LMFAO.
@maminjo
actually those dummies will continue to throw flares, they will come up with another excuse
plus with Mamic gone this team will do worse, bank on that!
Mandza will not go to a team without champions league
great post Talijan but I think pjaca will take that Cuadardo type role
Juve want champions league, if Mandza stays he will play, how much in the champions league knockout is a whole different question
So with Mamic gone, this “should” officially put an end to the flares and sabotage by our fans during our qualifiers, right?
I’ll be pissed if these fans come back with another excuse to try and get us kicked out of the World Cup.
Lol. Suker’s not going anywhere. That guy has nothing going for him outside of this.
Maybe he can re-start that S9 brand he was working on 10 years ago.
Has anyone heard… Mamic has resigned from the HNS? Great day if true. Hopefully Suker is next.
Allardyce just pussed out of the Croatia friendly.
He wants to spend the time to get to know his players instead, and they are cancelling the friendly at Wembley.
Good decision. I think England would’ve lost.

“Lakśe tebo oprati mozak nego četniku, svaka ti čast. “Tata” vaš če kad tad nestati s funkcije a Hrvatski nogomet če ostaviti na dno, i onda češ se kajati što si mu puha u guzicu sve ove dane”
Honestly man, take a Croatian language class. Or at least visit the country once or twice in your lifetime.
Big Sam doesn’t want to start off his tenure with a loss.

Pjaca to Juventus is a very risky move. He can easily find himself sitting on the bench most of the time.
I would have rather he went to a smaller club where he would be guaranteed playing time.
@torontocroatia, cv
Mamic! Just kidding. Its the morans in office at hajduk over the years. I dont want to mention any names because i dont want to burn bridges. Im not crying for hajduk. They only have themselves to blame.
Maminjo really you are a fan boy power to you, but like Donnie in the big lebowski you have no frame of reference. Lakśe tebo oprati mozak nego četniku, svaka ti čast. “Tata” vaš če kad tad nestati s funkcije a Hrvatski nogomet če ostaviti na dno, i onda češ se kajati što si mu puha u guzicu sve ove dane. Nothing worse than hearing “the next guy might be worse” just typical roll in shit instead of working a shovel mentality. Dog takes a shit in your yard you get a shovel, comparing Mamic to a dog would be offensive to all breeds, but for arguments sake a rabid dog needs putting down.
Sept 1 we play Engerand ya fuckers
@ Allen
Big Sam is a quality hire. He has taken many teams out of relegation to being competitive in the EPL. Maybe lacks imagination, but is tough leader who sets his teams up to produce a result.
Yeah he is above Cacic … like 3-4 levels!
@ Svima
Regardless of the circumstances, a friendly with England at Wembley, is a high profile event.
This is a great opportunity for our young players to compete on a big stage.
I say approach it like the Spain match and give a run out to all the players competing for minutes.
Also could be an opportunity for Cacic to practice in subbing in the second half.
You can’t make this ish up. We have a manager who freezes up in the second half and is unable to make a tactical sub/switch.
Security should be legit for this one.
Uvijek vjerni.
going to west ham to start winding down is career might be good
bilic will favour him for sure
maybe if he hasn’t won anything in the past he may be more tempted to stay in italy but he does have champions league so…
@Idemo
You have a point.
Though Pjaca is also considered a forward.
So for now it is : Morata out – Higuain (it’s a done deal, as he’s also went under medicals in Madrid) & Pjaca In.
At this point one between Mandzu and Zaza is poised to leave.
I am quite sure that Juve would rather keep Mario and make some money out of the Italian striker.
Mandzukić agent is reported to have said that the Higuan acquisition doesn’t change anything for them.
So, based on news, he should be staying.
However, my personal view, it much depends on the Croat. He will be getting far less playing time next season (unless unforeseen injuries). At this point in time Dybala and Higuain are one step ahead of him in the ranking.
So the question is: Will he get content with a secondary but still useful role in exchange to play in a winning team or will he want more minutes and decide to leave?
As far as I read the answer should be given this week when he is back in the ranks.
Though some speculations about West Ham have already started popping out…
idk why some new sources are saying mandzukic out if higuain comes
Same number of forwards as last year just Morata out higauin In
based off what? a perennial EPL manager vs HNL and Libya?
Nice to see Croatia finally play a (somewhat) big nation in a friendly. Not sure how much people follow EPL, but it’s hard to take Big Sam seriously. Goes to show you how hard it is to find a good manager to coach a national team. Not even England can obtain a successful manager. I would rate Big Sam over Cacic, but not by much.
So he has dirt on our politicians, but it doesn’t stop our politicians from occasionally smearing him in the news?
Croatia England friendly – Wembley Stadium – Sept 1st 2016

Toronto, budalo glupa, where did i say mamic is to blame for the mismanagement of hajduk? Lay off the drugs you are seeing things that dont exist, dont worry hajduk is on the right path now and when reform comes they will be a powerhouse again.
Maminjo, well done on the politicians not making it a corruption free zone, hilarious. The guy embarrasses us as a nation and no one makes a peep, why? He has so much dirt on them all, he is protected right up to our slut president, sramota. Not that such things aren’t universal, just other countries are at least better at creating a veneer cro lets him run free like the coked up nutbag he is and then people laud him as a genius, easy to be a genius when it isn’t you money no risk all reward. That goes for all the clowns that ran hajduk too.
@TorontoCroatian
if this site spent as much energy on Hajduk instead of Mamic maybe it wouldn’t be a mickey mouse club…….it is easy to blame Mamic for the problems with Hajduk, it deflects from the real issues
bunch of morons
Denis, who is to blame for Hajduk being a mickey mouse club?
I agree with maminjo, “everyone in croatian football got paid”.
I dont get why some people throw the word “yugo” and “commie” around so loosely. The gooligans are yugos? Really? Is there something i missed.
Im a hajduk fan yes. We are a mickey mouse club yes. Im not blaming mamic for hajduks problems. Im blaming mamic for being mamic and doing what mamic does.
@CV
you talking to me?
If so, would you like to clarify your issue?
like MOST
get a life you idiot
Anonymous, as a hajduk apologist…aren’t you livid at how badly hajduk is mismanaged?
And how is the world can you blame mamic for hajduks’ clueless and corrupt board?
The hooligans aren’t “yugos” they’re just unemployed and pissed off and they’re looking for any reason to be pissed off.
The whole yugo argument is just the default counter-argument for those who disagree with what the media is doing to Mamic. But, it’s not like Mamic is some true patriot Croat who is under fire from the Yugo politicians and media.
…It’s more like Mamic is a typical corrupt Cro Football official who is trying to get power taken from him by some other corrupt Cro Football officials, with the odd politician giving an anti-Mamic quote only to gain political points with voters and media just running headline grabbers and pretty much encouraging the unemployed youth to resort to hooliganism to get even more hits on their news portals.
These politicians who are getting involved are not really doing anything to create a corruption-free environment for our football programs, and these news portals are just doing anything they can to create drama and potential violence for future new articles. All parties are self-serving.
The fact that Igor friggin’ Stimac came ridiculously close to being HNS president says a lot about how deeply corrupted our football reps are. Focusing on getting rid of Mamic, then going after every individual after Mamic will take decades and will never correct the root cause.
The only chance for Cro in this area is to hope that a reform party like MOST gains a ton of seats in the September election and they target a revamping of the Ministry of Sport. This is very unlikely to happen, so I am just going to be indifferent to the whole sports corruption in Cro. Most of Western Europe has corrupt FAs so it’s not like we’re the only ones, so I will be indifferent to this whole thing until an actual political party makes it a part of their mandate.
Mamic apologists are just like the sanader apologists, eventually you will curse the name Mamic too. Mamic is the biggest yugo of em all and that yugo kolinda sucks his cock and people wonder why cro is the shambles it is today. But all of you would rather roll in shit than work a shovel in your life
these hooligans are all jugos
Everybody involved in Croatian football took money that wasn’t theirs. Everybody.
From Mamić, to Šuker, to Štimac, Srna & Pletikosa… Executives, Players, Coaches and Referees. They all took money that likely should have been reinvested in Cro football.
You knew it was bad when that young Hajduk executive (Hrvoje Maleš) bugged himself and caught the refs accepting a bribe, only for it to be known that this was simply common practice between clubs and referee and it ended up destroying his career as a football executive.
Mamić’s problem is that he draws too much attention to himself, and makes himself an easy target. So anyone who has interest in getting a bigger cut of this Croatian Football money tree is going to do whatever they can to take him down. Sadly, these hooligans are just pawns in a bigger game.
@TorontoCroatian
great post, could not have said it better
that is really what it comes down to, sad but true
Dinano is a football factory. Talent after talent is being produced and sold.
The anti Mamic crew has their panties in a knot over this and blames the ineptitude of Hajduk and its management on him…ffs, take a look in the mirror and maybe try and copy what is being done at dinamo to improve your team..instead of b.itching and moaning about it and creating low life loser hooligan who then try and destroy the nt…
Question for the anti-mamic/hajduk fans…is mamic to blame for how poorly hajduk is mismanaged? (cue the crickets no doubt…)

Bobby V your friend Misetic is being deliberately misleading. Tudjman and Susak were of course not found legally guilty of being part of a joint criminal enterprise because they were never put on trial, never had a defense, and therefore, no conclusions can be drawn by the court as to their guilt or innocence with respect to crimes or the modes of liability attached to those crimes. He should know that.

He is right tho, mascherano will probably not be playing CB this year, Bartra was right to dip out
Maybe the “it’s time to go” tweet was a message after hooligans found out where he is vacationing now.
Juve interested in Rakitic, possible replacement for Pogba.
@Idemo- no, he didn’t delete the tweet. All part of negotiating his new contract. They know they can risk it cause Rakitic can easily get some of the EPL money that is already flying around.
Turkey? youre named after a fkn ugly bird, coincidence? Turke isnt even a European country, its 97% asia/middle east and 3% European continent, the 3% you stole from Greece..Contaninople, should not be in the euros, uefa, nato or eu. Theyre lasting legacy is centuries destruction on foreign soil, and leaving behind muhamudanism. Turks having have been leaving in droves to Germany and Sweden and elsewhere, anywhere just to get away from turks and turkey, mainly to get away from those short fat things built like a stove they call women.wearing curtains. lol, any woman but no turk women pleeeeaaaaase. haha. turks are late comers into anatolia stealing the lands from armenians and then greeks in the 12th century, then importing arabs and muhamuds to attack europe, rape, kill and steal for muhamudanism. a pointless ugly bird country. famous for stupid looking shoes and ridiculous oversized onion hats, and camels. I hope theres another bloody coup attempt soon and the get the job done right next time, lotsa blood and korans and that shitty tasting baklava crap flying all over the place.

Any truth to the rumours:
Meanwhile, is Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic set to leave the Camp Nou? Following Andre Gomes’ arrival, the Croatian midfielder’s agent tweeted “It’s time to go.” One to watch…

Thank god there are only 4 million Croatians in Croatia. The less this country has the better. You people are just messed up!!!
Another Croatian leaving their shit country and shit league to join a real country and real league.
– must be sad Croatians leave their poor country to make some real money!!!l
– Croatians leave their shit leagues of fireball throwing and ZDS chants of war, to learn how to play real tactical soccer without ducking their heads from fireballs and firecrackers. Then they start to become better players, then try out for national team, national team are full of top country teams, do somewhat well during qualification against weak teams, and then as always SHIT THEIR BEDS because they just can’t match up to the real talent of the big nations…Italy, Spain, Germany etc.
– but then you’ll get responses from these Croatian farmers, that ‘for a small nation look how good we are and look at our tennis champion and our water polo champion hahahahah!!!
– here’s a better comment….Croatia has won NOTHING in soccer. That’s the real country’s sport!!! So before you Croatian farmers and you villagers speak of anything intelligent, wait until you win something first. Oh if anyone is interested in visiting the country of Croatia, I’ve been to Croatia and besides the beautiful beaches, there isn’t shut their besides shrapnel on the walls, shit foods trying to copy Italians for quality, coffee and cappuccinos made with fuckin whip cream hahahahah!!!
– hopefully the Croatian youth have finished their tambura practice that mama and Tata make them go through to read the absolute truth of what the real nations think of this poor country of only 4 million people. Croatia….please nothing else to do there besides swim!!
Naprid !!!

Hajduk advances to the second round of the Europa League with a 2-1 victory today in Split.
@ Taljan
Nice Serie A report.
Just flew back to NYC from Venice and took my time reading Gazzetta dello sport.
Man I love the way Italians breakdown their calcio.
I am looking forward to watching all the Hrvati in Italy this season.

Pjaca + Juve = World Class
If you love Croatia, you should not vote for him – otherwise, learn to speak Russian

O hajduceeeeeee
Rog and Coric are next from Dinamo.
Vlasic from jadan, mali i nemocan hajduk.
ok so for those that follow HNL
who are the next big kids gonna be sold this year?
any “next messi” coming up?
where will kovacic go? lets hope he goes somewhere where he can thrive and get career back on track.. he seems to have a good work rate and mentality… i still feel he has something to offer the repka
good luck to pjaca
who’s gonna go on record and predict a bust??
good luck to the kid.. he is athletic and talented for sure… lets hope he doesn’t get lost on the bench like others have said… i would have rather seen him go to a club where he can get valuable minutes… but who knows maybe he will
is it just me or are there more keepers coming up the pipe line?
this just baffles me how we can’t make a world class one… sure its not he most sought after position in soccer but with the giraffes some croats are and athletic ability we surely should be able to get a world class keeper at some point
On 13 June 2016, Pjanić joined Juventus on a five-year contract for a fee of €32 million, ending a five-year stint with Roma.[41] He chose the number 5 shirt to start the new season.
While I like Juve and Serie A all together, I worry about a player like Pjaca getting lost in the shuffle.
Tottenham was a mid-table club in 2008 when they purchased Modric. I believe this allowed Modric more opportunity to play mature as a player in a big league. If he had just gone to a top club like RM, he would most likely have been a bench warmer or sub like Kovacic is currently.
But, good luck Pjaca. Show ’em how!
With Pjaca going to Juventus, this should hopefully make him a starter for NT. I don’t mind Brozovic, but he’s not a natural winger. Pjaca and Perisic on the wings should be great.
Pjaca is the perfect professional. Juve is ran like a business. They don’t make mistakes too often. Work first, play after. They are going to make a world class player out of him.
Of course, Juve could use the money they’re getting from Pogba to buy the entire NT outside of Modric & Rakitic.
I have not watched enough of Pogba or Pjaca to pass judgement on value, but comparatively Pjaca looks like a bargain, and I have a hard time believing Pogba is worth €110 million.
@Maminjo………..negative my fried. We had people on this site praising Livaja. I had to bring them down to earth and explain how his “look at me” attitude would doom him.
Good acquisition from Juve.
I am curious to see how he sets in and how Allegri sees him.
He has often had in mind to switch to 4-3-3 and Pjaca might be the right weapon.
Juventus fans are quite demanding, and Italian press and fans are used to give the bust tag too soon. So, also given past experiences, I think his minutes will be reduced at the beginning to give him time to step in and get acquainted with the team and Serie A. Unless he proves to be able to provide some sparks since the beginning!
Other News from Serie A (for those who might be interested)
Apparently Juve are still looking for a striker (Rumors on Higuain are getting big), this questions whether Mandzukić will stay. Allegri rates him , and the fans respect his work rate, but I tend to believe that if they found a top player, they would let Mario go with no remorse.
There are also news on Brozović as a replacement for Pogba who seems on the verge of being sold to UTD.
Inter has stated that the croat is not in the transfer list though. I nonetheless believe that should the nerazzurri need some funds later this summer he is surely the first man to be sold. Not to Juve anyway. England looks more viable.
There were rumors about Kovačić to various italian teams (Milan, Juve, Roma) until a 3 weeks ago but he’s fallen off the radars. Though the fact that Real Madrid have just yesterday stated that they are ready to loan him out might re start speculations.
Newly promoted Pescara are discussing details for Lešković. Media report tag the acquisition as ‘done’. I have personally never seen him play. Anybody rates him?
He could be pairing with Dario Župarić as a central defender.
Duje Čop is back to Cagliari and I thought that, despite not playing bad for them 2 season ago, they would dismiss him soon, but there is no news yet.
Marko Pajač will play for the ‘sardi’ too. Newspapers report him in the starting 11.
Fiorentina and Napoli interested in Rog. La viola is reported to have offered 10m.
You would say that Strinić would leave the ‘partenopei’ given the lack of playing time he had last season, though his agent hasn’t popped up any request.
Same goes with Badelj, whose agent first complained about some unpaid fees and pushed for his player to leave this summer but then stopped any speculations as soon as the market opened.
Go figure!
Ante Budimir has joined Sampdoria, but could be loaned out back to Crotone. Whatever the decision he will debut in serie A.
Udinese and Bologna are on Bruno Petković. His rights have been acquired by Trapani with whom he made a great impact in the second half of last season. I would like to see him confront serie A as I think he’s got the talent to step up.
Ivan Vargić might benefit of speculations about Marchetti. The Italian goalkeeper is rumored to have created many problems in the dressing room last year and could be sold.
Should it be the case, the croat would have a chance to fight for a spot vs Berisha. While the albanian looks clearly favorite, his inconsistency might be exploited during the season.
If Palermo don’t buy another goalie Josip Posavec will be a starter following to Sorrentino moving to Chievo Verona. He has already made an impressive debut last season.
@ Poglavnik
Dobro idea !
All top national team programs bring out the best from their talent pool.
Rebic has struggled on the wing as his technical touch fails him at times and seems to get lost in tactical nous.
But he runs like horse and likes to be physical.
Curious to see some speed in our #9 going forward.
I would start to play Perisic there as well.
We need explosive scoring in the attacking third to stretch the field for Modric and Rakitic.
You got 1-2 more tournaments with their intelligence. I say support their aging legs with vertical speed up top.
God bless Mandzukic and his toughness but I have had my fill with his lack of explosive pace.
Kalinic is only faster as compared to Mandzukic, but while in better shape these days, still lacks explosion.
Halilovic will thrive in Hamburg with the flowing movement of the Bundesliga. Also the German practicality team model will do well for his fragile Balkan ego.
@ Ziva
Marko Pjaca has a shot, via Juve, to become a super star.
Pogba was taken off the scrap heap and now is set to shatter the transfer fee.
In Zadar galerija Adidas Store his face his next to Messi and Bale.
Time will tell … for Pjaca but he has the drive and talent and technical ability to make it happen.
It’d be nice if Rebic could convert into a proper #9.
He’s still only 22.
Much less competition for him there.
@Mr Black- I haven’t given up on Rebic either. I can see him starting if we get a few untimely injuries, AND he turns things around. The problem is Kovac-ball does not play to his strengths, so I am not optimistic.
“Ziva Istina says:
Pjaca is ten times the player that Rebic is.”
Based on what? How many times have you watched him play against able competition? Most people on this site have seen him play in one match.
Livaja was never a high end prospect. Nobody really cared about him. Except you of course.
Its a shame Look at Me Livaja never worked out……………said nobody.
Even if Rebić does pan out, he still won’t ever start for us.
We simply have too many high end wingers and future wing prospects who would be ahead of him (Perišić, Pjaca, Halilović, Vlašić, Brekalo, Davor Lovren, etc)
Rebic is 22, not saying now or never but just now would be ideal
I just saw the Dinamo game. Dinamo won 3-2. Pjaca scored twice (two penalty kicks) but really, the boy can play. He’s stronger, faster and technical better than the others. Juventus did a very smart thing. Pjaca will do great in Italy.
Ziva,
About Rebic. I still haven’t give up on him. This year under Kovac with Frankfurt will be his last chance. Kovac always liked him. Maybe this Rebic will impress us. You never know.
3-2
Dybala to Barca? highly doubt it
curious to see what Rijeka do with the money from the sales of Leskovic to Pescara (1M+) and Mocinic to Rapid Wien (2.5M). We haven’t made any ‘splashy’ signings – but we are still solid on all ends, although curious to see what my two Istrijani do in goal this year…
Good ole Dinamo……….down 1-0 to the Macedonian Champs.
Pjaca is ten times the player that Rebic is.
There were a bunch of us who said Rebic wasn’t good enough to be a national team level player. Some saw his speed and were blinded by that. You need skill to go along with speed.
Pjaca has that. Pjaca may not be superstar player, but he will be a quality player for the repka for the next 7-plus years
you are all being fooled. pjaca is simply rebic reincarnated under mamic
just like rebic, pjaca tantalizes with speed and dribbling. and one quickly equates to future prodigy. just like rebic though, it seems unlikely that the results every match what appears to be the talent. a similar thing could be said of kovacic
Looks a regional ex-Yugo league with a few other countries is being discussed again.
Just go ahead and do this. If they want to see real trouble in the stadiums, just watch what the BBB and Torcida will do together to embarrass the federations and clubs that go ahead with this idea.
With the crazy TV money in England it should be a matter of time before they are back up with the big boys of European soccer. Just look at what ManU is being rumored to pay for Pogba.
I wonder if the any of the ManU fanboys are asking why he was let go for nothing in the first place and now a record fee to bring him back.
I wouldn’t pay that much for Pjaca and i don’t think Pjaca is worth more than Halilovic.
I think the forecasts of an EPL downfall are exaggerated. The EPL has been down in recent years, but with the TV money coming in, best managers moving to the league and the growing popularity, English teams will be up there with RM, Barca and Bayern in a couple of years.
I would like to see a few Croatian players go to England. Badelj has been linked with Everton and Liverpool has been linked with half the team… We’ll see. It sounds as though Lovren has been captaining some of the pre-season matches at Liverpool. We need to strengthen the defense so hoping he can build on his progress from last season and come into the team for the qualification campaign.
Interesting transaction with Halilovic going to Hamburg. Instead of loaning Halilovic again, Barca is selling him for €5.5 million with a buyback clause of €10 million after 1 year and €12.5 million after 2 years. If they don’t trigger the buyback it will be because he’s a total bust since this is really chump change for Barca. Great deal for Hamburg too since they’re basically going to get paid for taking him on loan for 1-2 years.
I know few will agree, but Pjaca could just as easily be a bust and yet the transfer fees are light years apart. I think neither will be a bust, but Pjaca is not worth 4-5x Halilovic, so guessing the buyback suppresses the value by a significant amount.
Croatian players need to steer clear of England – no denying what this article implies
http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/19/football/brexit-effect-on-english-premier-league/index.html
@Maminjo- heck no, just commenting on what looks to be a great talent appraisal system at Dinamo compared to other HNL teams. The comment about how easily teams fall for hype/branding was directed at Man U’s offers for Pogba (who is an overrated £100million mental case).
With Cuadrado going back to Chelsea, that should open up some opportunities for Pjaca. Not expecting him to play in every single big game. This is still a very positive move for him. He will gain valuable experience at a stabilized big club. Very excited about his future. Wonder if Manzo will stick around to help him out.
Also it’s Juventus.
He played very well on the “B” team against Spain. The “B” team played better than the “A” team too.
I thought in this day and age everybody knew that this was all Serbian activity but it seems some ppl are still unawares so they should prolly go back to school and read “Trial by Slander” or something. Very disappointing from a seasoned journalist like Jones to make those comments. When i was watching the show my jaw hit the floor when he uttered that line, such garbage 🙁
Some AusCros also created a change.org petition asking for an apology:
http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2016/07/19/petition-croatian-community-takes-issue-qa-host
On Monday night on Q and A Tony Jones said Croatian Catholic terrorists bombed a nbr of places here in Aus in the 70s.
This has caused significant upset within the AusCro community cos it’s utter bullshit and most people are aware that was basically done by the Serbs trying to blacken the name of Croats at the time.

It looks like Mamic is cashing in his lotto ticket! If he is getting 10-15 % of Pjaca’s transfer fee, FIFA/UEFA should forcefully kick Mamic out for his overt corruption.
Juventus is a very shrewd and smartly run organization. They wouldn’t drop 23 million Euro on him if they don’t think he can become something better. They’re an excellent club at further developing young talent.
When I heard that AC Milan were the front runners, I cringed. AC Milan is where careers go to die. Inter Milan is equally disorganized, and just randomly buys young talent (with no plan) and just sees what shit can stick.
Juventus has turned pretty much every young player they spent serious money on, into much better players. Paolo Dybala (after one season) is going to be bought by Barcelona for 80 million. Crazy.
@BZ
Are you implying that Pjaca is overrated?
If so, I don’t think anybody here would agree.
Juventus, O’Haravicu
Damn that’s awesome for pjaca…I really hope he ends up being a beast
by this point in his career…and if he really wanted to…he could take this to court easily. its not like he’s broke and can’t pay for a high priced lawyer!
Oh, sure you can force someone in cro…….you think modric likes giving anywhere from 10-15 percent of his salary to Mamic. He knows that if he wants to keep the peace that is what he needs to do. You saw what took place with Loren already.
I wonder if anyone will leak his testimony from last week.
Jm,
I wouldn’t be surprised if Pjaca ends up in the starting 11 of Juventus, maybe even very soon.
I highly doubt you can “force” someone to sign that type of contract. Eduardo is the only one that has complained…the rest of these guys know exactly whats going on.
I wonder if Mamic forced Pjaca to sign one those personal service arrangements that he made Da Silva, Modric and Lovren sign (all three of those are confirmed) and they have to forward him a certain percentage of their salary. Rumor is that Kovacic signed one as well, but that can’t be confirmed.
@maminjo
“Forget Mamić, the entire Hajduk board should be investigated”
Great line. LMFAO. .
Alen Halilovic is going to Hamburg after talks with Valencia broke down.
is pjaca going to be loaned out? cause there is no way he plays on juventus right? …..which would be a shame
@maminjo- How bad is the management on other teams? Dinamo sells great player after great player, BUT still win year after year. You would think after selling a few players they would drop a season or 2.
An eye for talent cannot be underestimated in any sport. That said, knowing an overrated player when you see one (Pogba) is also an important trait.
One Pjaca equals all of Hajduk’s transfers in the past 5 years.
Forget Mamić, the entire Hajduk board should be investigated.
another two-pher, fun.
