San Pedro Croatian Hall Celebrates Hajduk’s 106th Birthday In Style

February 14, 2017

Croatian Hall in San Pedro, California was rockin’ on Saturday night as Dalmatinci from all over Southern California showed up to celebrate Hajduk’s 106th birthday. Roughly 250 people were on hand for dinner, dancing, singing and participating in a jersey auction for charity in Croatia. Društvo Prijatelja Hajduka hosted the event and all the blood, sweat & tears gets paid off as every Hajdukovac left in the wee hours of the night with a smile on their face.

DPH Los Angeles goals are to unite Hajduk fans in their local communities around the world and basically get as many memberships as possible to support Hajduk in these difficult times. Please visit Facebook for more information on how to join.

“i prica se o igracima”…hahaha…you sure have to go back several years to talk about anyone relevant!

nice to see you guys supporting your local Croatian community, also nice to see and hear the music played…well done!

Who had more fun? The Socal Croatians on Saturday? Or Ronaldo watching Messi lose 4-0 to Psg?

This is what happens when you bench Rakitic (or any Croatian for that matter.)

Cico has been MIA for at least a year now.

I’m sure we’ve all wondered what’s happened to Ziva. I actually miss the Ziva Istina logo, whenever I used to see that logo I used to think, “what sort of shenanigans is he getting up to now.”
    Entertaining guy in my opinion.

My favourite Ziva moment was when he ran one his polls, and some smart arse answered d (with some smart arse remark directed at Ziva) instead of a, b, or c which were the only options, and Ziva just answered, “that wasn’t one of the options.” For some reason I was laughing my arse off.

Feel free guys to share your favourite Ziva moments!

No clue on ziva istina. The last i heard from him was that he was going to the euro last summer. However, i never met the man and never found out who he is. Overall, i liked him on the site. Its a shame that hes not around any more.

I found Ziva to be an arrogant, know-it-all ass hole who talked down to people. But, looking back now I agreed with much of what he said about sports topics and croatian life.

I have two sons and took them to Croatia last summer. They were lost with their older relatives because my kids couldn’t speak croatian. Not much an issue with younger family members as they spoke English to them. Looking back at it, maybe Ziva was right and I have failed my kids in a way. I had them wearing cro national jerseys during the Euros and my cousins kept laughing and calling them Amerikanci and telling them to wear a Kobe Bryant jersey. Pissed me off, but deep down they were correct.

Ziva was an ass hole, but this website was better with him posting. The interest level has died down on the site without him.

Nice post, like your honesty – something that a lot of people could relate to I’m sure. It’s never too late though.

I think teaching your kids a second (Croatian)language is the greatest gift us parents could give.

Once we lose the language, we have nothing.

In saying that, I’ve found s lot of people find it so important to give their kids Croatian names but speak English to their kids.
They like to be involved in the community, which is great, but then miss the greatest opportunity of passing on the Croatian language to their kids.

My wife and I speak Croatian to our child, it’s tough going, but we will persist.
