Let’s kickoff Memorial Day Weekend right with the Croatian National Soccer Team as they play for the first time in the United States on May 27th in Los Angeles, California against Mexico. Representing the Croatian American Hall in San Pedro, we have organized a weekend full of celebration to ensure the greatest experience!

The Crowne Plaza in San Pedro is the official hotel for this special weekend. A block of rooms at a discounted rate has been reserved for all of our out-of-town guests. Please use the following link to complete your booking: Rooms

Festivities will begin on Saturday, May 27th at 10 am. We invite all of our guests to the Croatian American Hall in San Pedro for breakfast (5 blocks away from the Crowne Plaza Hotel). At noon, buses will depart from the Croatian American Hall to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for the Croatia vs. Mexico match. Upon arrival, we will hold a tailgate party leading up to the game with plans to enter the stadium at 3:30 pm. Croatian fan section tickets can be bought using the following link: Tickets

After the game, we will head back to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in San Pedro where there will be live music and a full bar to celebrate victory!

The timing for this game could not have been better planned as the next day we celebrate Croatia’s Day of Independence! The 27th Annual Independence Day Street Party will be held outside the Croatian American Hall in San Pedro starting at noon. With so much anticipation for the game, this year’s street party is set to be the best in years! As a result, two Croatian bands will be performing non-stop entertainment; Noćni Raj from Toronto, Canada and Grupa Zrinski from San Pedro, California. Kolo groups “Hrvatska Ruža” New York and “Croatia” Los Angeles will also be performing.

All of your favorite food and drinks will be at your disposal. With choices from roasted lamb and pork, to ćevapčići, and an outdoor beer garden and cash bar, your options will be endless!

Don’t miss the weekend of a lifetime! Join us in watching the Croatian National Soccer Team play in the U.S. for the first time ever and celebrate our biggest social event of the year, Croatian Independence – all in sunny Southern California! For further updates and information, please see our official Facebook page.

We wish you all safe travels to Los Angeles / San Pedro and look forward to seeing you soon!!

  1. Lovro says:

Who were the posters here talking about Croatia’s depth?

What you saw against Estonia is pretty much what you will see against Mexico.

    Don’t waste your money.

You won’t feel like partying after the game….and all I can see is some of our drunks getting beat up by the Mexicans at the stadium since we will be massively outnumbered.

Bad choice for the first ever visit by our Vatreni – wrong location, wrong opponent, wrong timing – right before a crucial qualifier.

Should have been on the East Coast against another European side.

…but, have to say thanks for all the organizing efforts!

  2. Lovro says:

…unnecessary jet-lag, time-zone bullshit – and playing against a physical team known for their cheap tackles.

Suker must be getting mucho dinero.

Not well thought out, other than the money. Let’s hope most of our starters do not attend.

  3. Zee says:

Idemo now that’s the idea! Don’t know where you are but for me Iceland is the same distance at los Angeles.

  4. Bobby V says:

From a soccer standpoint, I have to somewhat agree with Lovro.

We are far from qualifying and acting as if we are already in Russia.

Remember, we still have to play away matches in Iceland, Ukraine and Turkey.

Yet, we seem to be jeopardizing the first of these three matches with an ill-timed friendly against Mexico in Los Angelas.

  5. Mosa Ljezo says:

We outnumbered the Mexicans in Chicago and Atlanta. We outnumber every fan group! BHF volim te Bosnoooo
