You two have been entertaining us for the last decade.

And uniting us round the world.

    @ Denis

All the best in what is next for you.

I do hope you continue to share your love for Croatian Sports.

    @ Svima

There are so few of us walking the planet. May we all support each other in being of service to our community.

    Hvaljen Isus.

    Sretan Uskrs.

  2. Iggy Iggy says:

Thanks for everything Denis, genuinely wish all the best for you and hope you will continue to post on the site.

I did wonder if he would be posting at all though?, i must admit, same as the poster above me

  3. Poglavnik says:

Damn I wish I had audio here at work…
I’m imagining some Sarah McLaughlin playing in the background.

  4. Maminjo says:

I heard that the reason for the split is that Svircic banged Kvartuc’s wife and the kid came out black!

  5. Ammo says:

It’s well know that denis was ziva. It had been a long thought out plan to have an outrageous character spurring interest in the site. Toward the summer a couple of things happened. First, Denis vowed to no longer watch Croatian soccer, which was going to make keeping up with the ziva istina talk really difficult. Second, ante was looking to transform the site into a more reputable establishment so having ziva post outrageous things and spur up all these nationalist debates was going to hurt that. It seemed appropriate for a transition. Since ziva has been away though, Indeed traffic has slowed so denis started pushing bringing the character of ziva back (remember denis has often corrected people on the identity of ziva… Coincidence?), Ante though was too adamant to keep the character away. This came to a boil over the suker interview, where denis thought the character of ziva could really be used to push the conversation and wanted ante to follow suit and ask tough questions. In the end, ante wanted to go the non controversial media route and denis wanted to push the envelope. This was the final straw

I just want to wish everyone that has ever contributed to this site a happy easter.

Reading some of your comments on my facebook page and on Croatiansports made me teary eyed and chuckle at some comments.

    @CroatianSports,

I will unfortunately spend the weekend working at my other job and I will address this video monday or tuesday. I appreciate the video highlights. I know how much time that takes to put together.

    “Ammo”

You are hilarious. You must be a detective or something.

I will tell you this now that I am out of CroatianSports.com, I was NEVER Ziva Istina, never met the dude, never knew his name. I was named Ziva Svircina at one point.

    “Maminjo”

As far as I know Kvartuc doesnt have a wife. haha

    “Cico”

We had a chance to meet several times. :(

    “Iggy”

    Thanks for the kind words.

    “Soul Champ”

    Respect my friend.

  7. Maminjo says:

Turns out that Svirčić was HAET this whole time, and just got fed up with Ante deleting his posts

  8. JP says:

Gents, congrats to you all for what you’ve been able to achieve, truly amazing when you stop to think about it, and it only speaks to everyone’s vision, talent, drive, and selflessness. New ends are also new beginnings, and with the class that you all continuously display, there are only winners in every situation. You’ve all done an immeasurable service to the community on many levels. Imagine where we’d be if only 1% of us followed your example!

    @Ammo
You have piqued my interest in this the case of Denis and Ante’s friendship!

“Since ziva has been away though, Indeed traffic has slowed so denis started pushing bringing the character of ziva back (remember denis has often corrected people on the identity of ziva… Coincidence?), Ante though was too adamant to keep the character away.”

I do remember Ziva saying once that the guys who run this site asked him to create controversy! So if Ziva was not Denis, it does seem that they did know each other on some level.
Also Denis was not watching the NT, but was shamelessly promoting this Mexico vs Croatia match, to the point where he told people not to rush to buy tickets, but to wait!

Your theory is a very interesting one and, definitely one that should be pursued further, I for one wish you all the best in your endeavors!

I am also undertaking my own investigation in this the case of Denis and Ante’s friendship!
Looking forward to Denis’s next offering!

  10. Ante Kvartuč Ante Kvartuč says:

    @ Lazio & Ammo,

I promise you. Denis and I never knew the real identity of Ziva. We didn’t know where he was from. And to this day I don’t want to know. It would ruin the charm.

What if he really was some 40 year-old virgin-type guy buried in his mama’s basement taking us all for a ride.

    Ziva…Javi seeeeeeee.

    He’s been MIA since Euro.

  11. Toronto Croatia Toronto Croatia says:

Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this site Denis. (Same to you Ante)

Denis, I wish you the best of luck in the future.

    Čestit Uskrs!

    @Ante K

“What if he really was some 40 year-old virgin-type guy buried in his mama’s basement taking us all for a ride.”

It would be a surprise if he was anything but.

Mama Istina must have stopped paying his internet bills. ;)

  13. Croatianperson85 says:

    @ Denis and everyone else

Sretan Uskrs everyone. Denis it is sad to see you go. I think most of us agree that you provided a voice of reason and called out bs when you saw fit which is much needed when engaging in Croatian dialogue. We all know how much groupthink effects us.

I know you have a YouTube channel. Any chance for your own Cro sports type site or forum with less of a promo and more of a hard hitting questions type approach that everyone is thinking but no one is asking? You’ll undoubtably have the support.

Regardless, thanks to both yourself and the Kvartuc brothers. We’ve had an avenue to discuss Cro sports and other topics as well as to just keep in touch with the diaspora.

All the best in whatever you choose to do with your newfound spare time. Cheers!

  14. Nizic says:

Why would you let Denis go, a solid hrvat with knowledge of all Sport, sad day in C.S.com, typical CEO politics ruins a good thing, hope you do something involving Cro sports and reporting Denis all the best to you and your endeavours.

“I promise you. Denis and I never knew the real identity of Ziva. We didn’t know where he was from. And to this day I don’t want to know. It would ruin the charm.”

Lies – it is well known you guys can see the location of the people who post.

  17. Ante Kvartuč Ante Kvartuč says:

    @ CroatHrvat,

We have some access I suppose. But I wouldn’t call “knowing which metropolitan a poster lives in” knowing the guy’s identity. So once again: DON’T KNOW WHO ZIVA IS.

Plus, unless someone reaches out to me either publicly (over a forum) or privately and gives me their info, I leave it alone.

  18. T Bone says:

Sorry to see you go Denis, shame you guys couldn’t reach a compromise.

P.S. Kvartuc, if you need a writer for your site I’ll be happy to contribute or offer you up some ideas. I’ve been a long time visitor but a pretty minimal contributor and have a few thoughts about how to improve the site and attract more interest.

  19. Anonymous says:

Come on now, I’m sure u know what state Ziva is in, I’m certain of that, who knows tho, ziva may be dead, the euros were to much for him to deal with, & the years of constant bullying in his community may have pushed him over the edge

  20. Andrej L says:

    @ Denis
Your a good man and it’s sad to see you go. You should be proud of the type of website that you helped create. You guys really make a difference in the diaspora community especially for some of us who don’t socialize in the Croatian community in our respective cities/towns.
    Sve najbolje stari!

  21. ARMADA87 ARMADA87 says:

    @ Ante

Don’t run this site into the ground, whatever you do. I’ll come to CA and give you the istarski batina from hell. Trust me bro,you don’t want none of that! Us East Coast Hrvati are the real OG’s…

Keep up the good work ;) and find a way for me to circumnavigate my work firewall so I can chime in while I’m slaving away in my office.

  22. Tom Cvelbar says:

    Denis and Ante:

This Website is the greatest. Thank you very much for your efforts both of you. I don’t want to guess what the differences are between you two, but I am hoping you two can work them out eventually. Based on Denis interviews with Mate Bulic and Oliver Dragojevic, I always thought he had a desire to widen the platform which I think is a great idea.
I am disappointed that two Journalist who job is to reveal the true in the News, are being so allusive to what the differences are and why they are so irreconcilable.
I say, Life is too short, find a middle ground, do it for the community. You are both great men but even greater as a team. Don’t break up the team. Find a way.

In any case, best of Luck to both of you, whatever you decide.
