Hajduk Split and NK Osijek both won Thursday night in Croatia to strengthen their Europa League bids. Hajduk took down Bulgarian club Nevski Sofia 1-0 behind a 24th minute penalty from Marko Futacs. The home win will put Hajduk as a favorite to move onto the next round.

Osijek took care of business, defeating Swiss club Luzern 2-0 at home to all but book their berth alongside Dinamo Zagreb in the 3rd qualifying round. Hajduk is also a favorite to move on but they have work to do in Bulgaria before their spot is assured. Both clubs play again next Thursday away to Luzern and Nevski Sofia, respectively.

  1. NK Susak says:

was switching back and forth between games. Was surprised to see Hajduk actually hold on. It was the type of game where they always concede a late goal and make things difficult. Osijek are a fun team to watch. Their lack of finishing will come back to bite them, but their build up play and hustle was nice to watch. Still a long way to go, but all in all a good week for HNL clubs,
