HNL Week 17: Rudeš, Killer of Giants

November 27, 2017

Rudeš have recorded only two league victories this season; a 1-0 win over Istra and a recent 3-2 victory over Hajduk Split. Sunday’s match almost saw the add Dinamo to their kill list, if it wasn’t for Armin Hodžić‘s draw-salvaging goal in the 72nd minute.

Karlo Kamenar scored for Rudeš, who remain in last place in the Prva Liga. The 44th minute goal put Rudeš’ hopes through the stratosphere and they nearly pulled off the impossible.

Dinamo slummed it through the muck that barely passed as a pitch at Kranjčevićeva in search of an equalizer but were stunned time and again by Rudeš goalkeeper Josip Čondrić, who put a performance fit for a transfer from the tiny neighborhood club. He will also be pleased to have a heroic tale to endlessly bore his future grandchildren with.

Dinamo coach Dario Cvitanović has been facing pressure in lieu of recent performance and shifted the Modri’s tactics and lineup in order to bring the match level. His substitution of Armin Hodžić paid off, as the striker found the back of the net to tie the game.

Dani Olmo though he had brought his team from behind to win the match after his 75th minute goal, but the referee’s assistant saw it a different way and flagged the Spaniard for offside, a call which at second look, was very, very incorrect.

The calls usually go in favor of the Modri, but Dinamo faced the fate many of their opponents have felt over the years and settled for a draw against bottom-dwellers and giant killers, Rudeš.

Hajduk Split pulled off a point-saving draw of their own in the dying minutes at Poljud.

Alen Grgić put Osijek in the lead in the 38th minute but Hajduk dashed the hopes of Osijek with a 90th minute equalizer from Ahmed Said.

Rijeka was the only top-four team to find victory this weekend and they had to travel to Vinkovci to get it.

Rijeka put two goals on Cibalia, who in turn, scored one of their own. The three points for Rijeka put them in second place with 29, but only on goal differential, as Hajduk and Osijek also have 29 points. Dinamo remains on top with 41 points.

If a Jew does not speak Hebrew he is till considered a Jew is he not? Weak guys. What name is Shanaelle anyway? LOL You fucks don’t deserve Croatia if you just give her away.

  2. Jarac says:

Her interview was good…she actually looked much better in her interview they made her look very dark with her makeup…maybe on purpose lol….definitely much hotter cro girls though….

  3. CroatianPerson85 says:

Agreed Jarac. Much hotter girls. She clearly speaks the language. Anon you’re comparing race and religion. Yes he’s still a Jew. He could also speak Yiddish (hybrid of Hebrew, German and Slavic languages I believe).

Not sure how this relates to HNL week 17: Rudeš, Killer of Giants but ok. Maybe she’s a Rudeš fan.

  4. Iggy Iggy says:

LOL, cmon CP85 you know we just all migrate to the most recent thread on this board and then discuss politics and race regardless of what the actual posted story was about ;)

  5. CroatianPerson85 says:

Agreed Iggy I’ve noticed the trend as well, most of us do it but I myself can’t gripe about not wanting to talk about something if I can’t help but respond when I read certain comments. I’m starting to sound like a hypocrite. My bad.

@ Jarac the “Not sure how this relates to HNL week 17: Rudeš, Killer of Giants but ok. Maybe she’s a Rudeš fan” comment was not directed to you but Anon regarding the extending of the Miss Universe is she Cro is she not convo by now talking about Jews and speaking Hebrew.

No malice intended from my part Jarac.

I’ll try to lay off the non sports comments.

  6. Maminjo says:

This Shanaelle girl speaks Croatian so well.

Very impressive, especially considering she wasn’t raised there.

She won Miss Croatia because she’s 6 feet tall, got accepted into MIT, speaks the language perfectly, and is half black (which makes her different).

These are likely the reasons why she went pretty far in the Miss Universe pageant too.

Personally, I think Mamić is behind this one as well

  7. Zee says:

@maminjo. You’re on fire today bro! Keep em coming. I think Prince Harry just got engaged to her twin today. Lol

  8. Evo Uje says:

Miss Croatia could beat the fuck out of more than half the jackasses on this site.If you let her get on top, she’d break all your dicks.

  9. Iggy Iggy says:

She won Miss Croatia because she’s 6 feet tall, got accepted into MIT, speaks the language perfectly, and is half black (which makes her different)

I don’t really think this is a bad thing. I’m old now (36), and 20 years ago when i was applying for jobs, i used to be so terrified and downtrodden cos i have a very Croatian name which is hugely unusual here in Aus and no one can ever pronounce it.

And you know how they have conducted tests with names like John Smith vs some ethnic name and have the resumes identical and yet the John Smith always gets picked? Well that’s how it used to be. I felt like it was garbage and even flirted with anglosizing my own name – as much as i hate the concept of doing that, of going from Ilija to, say, Elijah just to fit in.

These days i feel it’s different, i actually feel it’s almost a POSITIVE to have ethnicity and a weird ethnic name. IMHO that’s a GOOD thing. I’d rather see positive discrimination than negative. That’s kinda what happened with her, you’re right Maminjo she got picked cos she’s unique and i am totally fine with that, good on her.

P.S. as a matter of trivia i had a job interview today (kicked it in the dick btw, got the job for sure lel) but none of the interviewers were CAPABLE of pronouncing my name correctly, despite my slowly and clearly repeating it about five times.

It can be truly shit to be minority ethnic at times and some of the shit that people post on here, such as about this poor woman just adds to that. Give her a fucking break. It’s not her fault who her parents are. She has lived in HRV and speaks the language, what more CAN she do to fit in? She’s done everything she can. She didn’t choose her name either. Give her a break. She’s made a big effort to be a Croat and deserves some kudos!

  10. Iggy Iggy says:

And to continue the rant, can i just emphasise, how fucking bad are anglo aussies at pronouncing foreign names? Is it the same in USA and Canada? Like i seriously can tell people 10 times how to say my name and they – it’s like their mouth can’t phonetically make the corresponding sounds, or they’re fucking retarded.

I’ve had managers in the past literally give up and call me “The I-man” rather than learning to say my name, which is obviously offensive and if it happened today i would call it borderline harrassment. I don’t understand why anglos are so fucking hopeless at even bothering to put in effort to learn how to say someone’s name. Fucking lazy fuckos.

  11. Dalic Lama says:

    To all young Croats,
Read Iggy’s comments above. Then ask yourself, “Am I a fuckin pussy snowflake like Iggy?”

Worried about pronunciation at 36? Just keep melting, I-man. Good luck with your fuckin harassment lawsuit you twat.

  12. Big Ed says:

Iggy it is a Wog eat Wog world. In Anglo land our names are werid yes but who cares we always have Croatia to go home to. Wait we have Croatia away didn’t we?

  13. Poglavnik says:

Some loser probably Traditional Croats been posting under my name lately. I’ve got nothing against Iggy but that wasn’t me.

  14. Anonymous says:

    @Poglavnik (liberal minded Ustasa)

I didn’t post under your name, I could never defile myself by writing Iggy is a cool dude.

Same thing’s been happening with The truth, but with my prodigious memory, I know that The truth played Soccer not Rugby, not me either.

Anyway, whoever is doing these things, I’d like to say, keep up the good work!

  15. canuckcro says:

Sept blatter saying fifa draws of the past were fixed using heated or cooled balls to favor certain teams??

  16. The truth says:

    Iggy crying about name pronunciation?

Didn’t seem to stop all the Asians, Indians and Russians from getting good jobs

A name is nothing. The color of one’s skin and being female are the true impediments to getting jobs and promotions. Those people truly face the uphill battle. Not someone with a tough last name

  17. Canuckcro says:

Imo praljak is as brave a fighter as any great that ever lived.Defending your people ..cant get any more honorable.

  18. The truth says:

Fake truth comment above again about gotovina….i might have to start signing in soon enough if people keep trying to be the truth

I know a lot about gotovina from my brother who fought in the war. I don’t believe he was a yugo…. Was he an opportunist like many nationalists during that time…..?….. That’s up for debate

  19. The truth says:

Slobodan praljak….a Bosnian Croat general…. Had his guilty of war crimes verdict upheld today in the hague

He got up, said he rejected the verdict, and swallowing poison in the court

Is this the zds way of life?

  20. Serb says:

the ZDS way of life is rocking a wifebeater with a big grb tattoo and blasting thompson while barely knowing the language

  21. Canuckcro says:

Sometimes I think Serb government pays trolls to dis us cros on any site to discredit us as a normal culture for their own gain.Meanwhile ..serbs of ww2 were the first country to proclaim they’ve displaced or worse the Jewish population of serbia..fact.Lot of kirve on their hands.Next to no one alive in the world from ww2 and serbs blaming us younger generation for our relatives keeping croatia intact. The smarter minds will prevail.

  22. CroatianPerson85 says:

There needs to be a mod. Serb isn’t even Serb he’s someone else posting once again under multiple aliases. This site is turning for the worse as of late.

We went from HNL week 17:Rudeš, Killer of Giants to mudslinging with shit disturbing Croat troll(s) posing as imaginary Serbs.

How many more people need to have their aliases copied before this really gets out of hand if it hasn’t already.

    Cue the insults.

  23. Poglavnik says:

    R.I.P. Praljak.
    That’s how to do it.
Pretty much the complete opposite of that cunt Mladic. Mladic hid like a weasel and had a massive hissy fit in court.

  24. Canuckcro says:

Israel know croatia as a friend now and are willing to sell hi-tech fighter planes from their us arsenal.. the yids have a lot of power and serbs exploit past ugly theatres of war which were not initiated by smaller countries of Europe at the time..smaller countries were pawns..fuck yugoshitia.

  25. Poglavnik says:

If both our kits are true then those are the best we’ve had since 1998. Good job Nike. Now we just need the results to match ’98 and they’ll truly be memorable.

  26. Canuckcro says:

Lot of comments on YouTube fifa soccer kits are saying they are the best styled colours out of all the

  27. CiganJeCigan says:

vrsaljko come in the 66th min and gets an assist 2 mins later. liverpool doesnt concede as lovren plays entire match. vlasic comes on in the 91st min.

World Cup draw will be televised on Fox Sports 1 here in the States at 10:00 AM – also on Telemundo. 6PM Moscow (local time) hosted by Gary Lineker.

Keep in mind that being drawn next to a group that Poland or Russia is in would likely mean we wouldn’t play them in the round of 16, but, more likely the team in Pot 2, who would be favored to finish first – that is, if we finish second in our group.

Here’s a pretty good video that actually uses Croatia as an example.

  29. canuckcro says:

How fixed can the draw be…don’t really care because our boys are in ..they’ll fuck us in the draw plus install a twisted ref in the first round if we end up in a close game with a big boy soccer power.Oh well have a pivo next our God gifted soccer talent during the cup and yebiga.worlds never been fair.

Have the Russian Hooligans been addressed? Don’t you think the Russians with their Serb butt brothers will cause some violence for us?

  33. Maminjo says:

Russians don’t care for Serbs AT ALL.

This is such a myth. They supplied Croats with weapons during the war. They are constantly interested in Croatian companies (Agrokor, INA) as they want influence in Croatia (since they already have unquestionable loyalty from everyone in Serbia). They just throw Serbia a bone once in a while, like not recognizing Kosovo (or something like that) to keep them happy, but they really don’t do anything for Serbia at all.

Russian football fans are pretty supportive of our National team and they still haven’t forgotten that we helped them qualify for Euro 2008 when we knocked out England. There were no problems with them when we played them in qualifying and in our recent friendly (where we beat them in Russia).

You’ve got Serbian flags literally everywhere in our most recent qualifier in Greece, yet nothing in Russia. Russians have a pan-Slavic mentality. They don’t take sides in conflicts between Slavic countries (unless they’re the ones in the conflict).

I wouldn’t worry about anything. Serbia has no brother.

  34. Elvis says:

I remember a few years ago Torcida got jumped and had their drum stolen in Russia. The threat of violence is there. During the war numerous dead bodies of Russian Volunteers were found. Average Russ may not give a fuck but the firms do.
