    What’s up with Coric? He’s disappearing into the ether. I thought he was gonna be good but maybe not? He’s down two sets to nil against some nobody Aussie Millman which is kinda shite.

    Karlovic and Cilic both won today tho at least. Was following 3 Croats playing at once in the Aussie Open! Good to see!

  2. Branko says:

    @Iggy

    Coric was a huge #1 junior prospect who stormed into the Top 100 by age 17 and even went up to #33 by age 18 since he had no points to defend. Since then he has hardly been able to be a Top 50 player as his complete lack of a big first serve in the ATP makes it impossible for him to defend his service games consistently. He has all the weapons otherwise, but unlike Alexander Zverev who has already reached the #3 ranking, he will never be a top player unless he finally finds a way to serve aces and/or raise his first serve percentage in a hurry.
    One of the rare Croat with a weak serve even though he is at least a solid and athletic 6ft1 (1,85m) talented player…

    Thanks for the reply : )

    I hope he can work it out cos it’s disappointing if he doesn’t pan out better than he has thus far, that’s for sure.
