BREAKING NEWS: Miocic Will Defend Belt Vs. Cormier At UFC 226 In Vegas
January 26, 2018
After a huge title defense against Ngannou only one week ago, Stipe Miocic is swirling up MMA headlines on this Friday night as it has been announced that he will fight light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 226 in Las Vegas July 7th.
Both fighters are coming off a title defense at UFC 220 this past weekend in Boston and will go toe-to-toe for Miocic’s heavyweight belt in the summer. Cormier will be going up a weight class for this fight but he is no stranger to the heavyweight department. Cormier fought in the heavyweight division from 2009-2013 and is an all-around fighter with ground game and submission power.
Cormier only has one professional loss in his career; to Jon Jones in January of 2015. When the two met again in July 2017, Jones would knockout Cormier but the fight would later be called a “no contest” as Jones tested for a banned steroid.
This will be another great test for Miocic and we should all be excited for this fight.
Who’s going to Vegas?!
