After thumping Hapoel Beer Sheva 7-2 (aggregate) in the second qualifying round, Dinamo Zagreb continued their winning ways Tuesday night in Kazakhstan, defeating FC Astana 2-0 in the Champions League third qualifying round.
Dinamo only controlled ball possession for 37% of the match but got on the board first when Mario Budimir struck home in the 39th minute to give the Croatian champions the lead. Daniel Olmo added a much needed second away goal in the 84th minute to put the Modri in prime position to book a Champions League playoff berth. If that happens, Dinamo are guaranteed European group stage play this season, whether it be in Champions or Europa League. They would play Swiss club Young Boys in the final qualifying round.
@bz.i doubt he’ll play for Spain. He is from Catalonia. Unless they get fifa recognition.
Let’s hope Olmo keeps playing well, so Spain caps his ass. I don’t want that spanish guy playing for us #CroatianDNAOnly
Bravo Dinamo.
