Osijek is the only club in the league who has successfully found victory in the first three matches of the season. Victories over Hajduk Split, NK Rudeš and most recently, NK Istra 1961 have given Osijek a table-topping nine points.
After their tough 2-1 (3-1 agg.) defeat to Rangers FC, Osijek haven’t looked back and top the table with a league-leading three wins.
The season is young, but Osijek are enjoying the view from the top.
Dinamo Zagreb recorded a routine victory over Slaven Belupo, who have yet to find victory in this young season. Dinamo went up 2-0 by the half, thanks to goals from Armin Hodžić and Mario Lešković. Slaven’s Bruno Bogojević cut the lead in half in the 90th minute, but the consolation goal wasn’t enough for Slaven.
Hajduk Split and HNK Rijeka played to a 1-1 draw at Rujevica on Sunday, snapping Rijeka’s two-match win streak to start the season.
Rijeka’s Jakov Puljić scored the match opener in the 62nd minute, but was countered by Mijo Caktaš‘ 87th-minute penalty goal.
Rijkea coach Matjaz Kek refused to comment on the penalty, which has been criticized and referred to as “dubious” by Croatian media. Fans seemed to agree judging by the amount of trash and other objects hurled on the field after the penalty was awarded.
Apparently, we will be ranked like #15 in the new ranking lol
^ pretty sure new FIFA rankings will be released Aug 16.
Any idea what’s up with the FIFA World rankings?
I can’t find one newer than pre WC.
There was supposed to be one mid July that seems to not exist.
I wanna see us in that top 3 again!

One of the best sporting moments I’ve ever watched.
His semi-final goal against England forever etched in my mind …
Mandzukic is still needed, he should have retired AFTER our next disappointment. Please Rakitic and Modric: Do not retire, we have yet to reach our pinnacle!
Super Mario has retired!
thx for the highlights
