Inter Milan winger Ivan Perišić

There are rumblings around Europe that Inter Milan’s Ivan Perišić has put in a transfer request ahead of Thursday’s deadline and Arsenal would be his new club, SkySports has reported.

Perišić was an unused bench player at the weekend in Inter Milan’s 1-0 loss at Torino.

There’s a few combinations how Peričić could end up at the Emirates by week’s end; one of which is an Inter Milan loan out to Arsenal with an option to buy in the summer. The winter transfer deadline closes Thursday, January 31st and Arsenal could use a winger like Perišić as they currently sit in fifth place; three points behind Chelsea and the final Champions League berth.

Jose Mourinho and Manchester United wooed Perišić on multiple occasions in the past 18 months but a deal was never struck.

Personally, at age 29, I would love to see Perišić get the added exposure which is the Premiership. Juventus is a juggernaut in Serie A and will be untouchable for another two seasons. Even if Inter Milan acquired Luka Modrić in a hypothetical transfer – as was discussed in the summer – they still wouldn’t be able to compete with Perišić for the Italian title.

I prefer he stay in Milan.

He gets plenty of rest and won’t be pushed to the limits while playing in Serie A.

The EPL season is long and gruesome. We still need him to perform for the National Team. He’s turning 30 this year. I’d rather he doesn’t expend his final four years of his career trying to get shitty Arsenal into the top four in England.

His focus should only be on Euro 2020 and saving enough gas for a final World Cup run.

Arsenal does need a player like him…deal will probably go through…Rest In Peace Inter Croazionale

Only thing that worries me about Arsenal is that there is plenty of talent there and willingness to buy new talent. I know he would be probably the only natural winger there besides Iwobi but there’s competition and less incentive to try to develop a 30 yr old. I get that he wants to get paid and as he should but hopefully it’s not at the expense of playing time.

  4. The Great Anonymous Doom says:

Perisic doesn’t need more playing time to develop; he needs rest to stay healthy. Good move maybe, if it helps us beat top teams. Players who still need more game time in top leagues are Jedvaj, Pjaca, Kovacic, Rog, Pasalic, Halilovic, Coric, Mitrovic, Caleta-Car, Radosevic, and whoever else is still young and unproven. The talent is there, but is needs to be exercised!

    Exactly.

Perisic goes to Arsenal as a guy that Inter was no better off for having anyway.

Inter sucks with Perisic, and Arsenal will suck with Perisic only thing is he will be better paid.

    Perisic knows what he’s doing.

  6. Andrej L says:

Sorry I should’ve written incorporate a 30 yr old into the system. I don’t think he’ll develop too much more but I’d rather he plays regularly than sitting on the bench like Ozil.

  7. Maminjo says:

Perisic will not be sitting on the bench at Arsenal.

I’m more concerned about him getting injured or being completely exhausted for our qualifiers and tournaments.

At Inter, he was pretty much coasting. In England, they will blow his knees trying to squeeze every last drop out of him.

  8. Rafael says:

IF Perisic wants more money then go to China. EPL and arsenal would be a dumb move at 30. the pace game after game will break down his body.

  9. CroatianPerson85 says:

Don’t think he needs the move. Too much talent at Arsenal. Champions League hopes are just as tight. He relies on his pace more than most players and it’s the most physically taxing league.

Do these players potentially moving help our NT?
Perisic, (Arsenal) Rakitic (Chelsea/City) Modric (Inter) Rebic (Man U) Vrsaljko (Atletico) Badelj (Turkey?) Kovacic (back to Real) dare I say Kalinic (was reading he may be back with the NT, could be BS news).

    @CroatianPerson85

The only move I like is Modric going to Inter.

It will add another year or two on his career, and he will play at a very high level until 36 (similar to how Andrea Pirlo was still very effective at that age).

I don’t like Perisic and Rakitic going to EPL at the age of 30. I want them both healthy for another World Cup.

Rebic has a good thing in the Bundesliga. I hope he stays there.

Kovacic needs to find a team that will play him every game, but still in a top league. He should have gone on loan to Sevilla, instead of Rog.

Badelj and Nikola Kalinic I could care less about.

  11. Ivica Golic says:

He missed his chance to Man U because he didn’t want to be coached by Mourinho. Everyone knew Mourinho was going to be sacked anyway. That was 40 million.

  12. CroatianPerson85 says:

    @ anonymous

Agreed. I only like Modric going to Inter.

I don’t think any of our guys should be going to England this late in their careers.

    Great article!

I remember when I was the only guy on this site saying that Modric has all the tools he needs to be a no10, and Crnkovic and Idemo disagreed, now all you other homers have jumped on the bandwagon lol, well guess what, there’s no room, so go and get fucked lol!

  14. BZ says:

@IG-Ah the paradox…had they signed Perisic, Mourinho would not have been sacked. Count it.

Soul-Amazing when you would be the best 10, best 8, and best CDM not only on Croatia, but on any team worldwide. Modric is that good.

  16. Anonymous says:

Don’t forget all the clowns telling us how Lovren and Strinic were gonna cost us at the World Cup, while Football Fan from Iceland was questioning the NT’s work rate and getting a ton of abuse from all the lol soccer experts on this site.

Now all these clowns are talking about this high press like that doesn’t require, you guessed it, work rate.

And I’m a casual soccer fan as well lol!

    @Vlado Chernozemski

You should’ve included Mesic, Josipovic, Kobila Grubby Kitarovic, Plenkovic and their great friend Pupovac, they’re all motherfuckers that deserve your flowers.
