The Champions League is back!
Tuesday night, Marcelo Brozović got the start for Inter Milan in a 1-1 home draw vs. Slavia Prague. Brozović played 71 minutes and was slightly responsible for the Slavia goal with poor defending in the box. Inter Milan needed an injury time equalizer to spare a point in a group which is also comprised of Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund. Does Inter regret loaning Ivan Perišić out to Bayern Munich now?
Ivan Rakitić came off the bench in the 60th minute for Barcelona and picked up a yellow card in a scoreless draw vs. Dortmund. Lionel Messi returned from injury to come off the bench for the reigning La Liga champions.
Mateo Kovačić got the start for Chelsea and played 80 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Valencia. Ross Barkley came on for Kovačić and then missed his 87th minute penalty which would have made the game 1-1. Instead, Chelsea go down at home to start their Champions League campaign.
Dejan Lovren remained on the bench as Liverpool lost 2-0 to Napoli in Italy to begin their campaign. It’s nothing to worry about as this will be Liverpool’s toughest group stage match.

Luka Sučić (just turned 17) started for RB Salzburg’s U19s in their Youth Champions League opener. They tied 1-1.
