The Poljud Curse

October 8, 2019

Poljud_panorama_2

The Vatreni will play at Split’s Poljud Stadion for the first time Thursday since June 12, 2015 – where they drew Italy 1-1 in Euro 2016 qualifying. That match was played behind closed doors due to Croatian fan trouble from a previous match against Norway and then brought a dark shadow upon Croatian football itself. The last time the Vatreni played at Poljud, a swastika could be seen etched into the field. The HNS were ordered to pay a fine and play the next two home matches in empty stadiums.

For whatever the reason may be, Poljud has not been kind to Croatia.

In 12 total matches played in Split, the Vatreni have only won one match while drawing seven times. Granted, the majority of these matches have been friendlies, there’s just something in the air at Poljud that doesn’t give Croatia the same advantage they have had in Zagreb or Rijeka.

Although tickets for the Croatia-Hungary match sold out in one day – per usual in Split – this game will not be without drama. Luckily for the team, it’s Hajduk management “off the field” drama. Hajduk’s front office will not be present for the match. This may have to do with he fact that president Davor Suker and the HNS never brought them into the conversation of having the game at Poljud months ago. Hajduk heard it through social media.

Croatia can book their spot at Euro 2020 with a win against Hungary and road victory vs. Wales this week. Hungary would be happy with a draw due to their win against the Vatreni in Budapest; giving them the head-to-head tiebreaker should the teams end level on points.

Prediction: Croatia wins 3-1

Ok this is hilarious both the real or not real Truth’s comment and Ante’s response.

“Thanks for the kind words,” lol. Comedic gold.

  2. Iggy says:

1-1 vs Italy, no shame in that if that’s the most recent reference point. I mean i have a bad feeling but i always have a bad feeling when we play cos im a pessimistic cunt expecting the worst lol.

  3. Poglavnik says:

    Fuck Poljud!
    Maksimir is our fortress.
I wouldn’t have staged a game in Split for at least 10 years after that last shit.

  4. Suba says:

Those bean chuggers in Zagreb are going to see what a fully armed and operational battle station is.

Would you feel compelled to ban anything that wasn’t a threat? Imagine if just ONE Island in Croatia was declared for White people only. Would Croatia be allowed to play internationally? Does not being able to tolerate even a small White island because you know it’s a game of dominoes seem like a strong position to you?

  6. Anonymous says:

We can’t allow a freaken swastika b/c nazis will take over, but pro-whites are the ones who are “scared”. Nobody’s with you “nazis” but we can’t allow free speech b/c you might take over.

Give me a break, these antiWhites and their media and their mommy professors and their corporations with their advertisement companies are a bunch of two faced wimps and ignoramuses.

  7. Slavonac from Canada says:

I just hope this game goes on without some crazy swastika shit behind the scenes…or some fans deciding to sabotage the game.

  8. Suba says:

Well I know I won’t be able to sleep tonight. To think that we can finally avenge the death of our king. To heck with Attilla and the donkey he rode in on. Tomo we do it the Dalmation way.

  9. Lovro says:

Slavonac always makes sure he throws an anti-Hajduk reference when the club has no connection to a topic that’s being discussed.

You don’t unite Croatian fans in this way – you divide.

Most fans of Dinamo and Hajduk wish there was no corruption at either club.

Most fans cheer for the other when they play in Europe.

The posters on this site who are viewed as the most popular are the ones with extreme views on the Hajduk-Dinamo rivalry.
These are the people who drag the national team into their corner, in effect, using them as hostage over the years, to further the battle.

It seem to be a reflection of what is going on with news coverage in the States. The only ones that are being given a voice are the extreme right and extreme left.

We need more comments from fans who support all the clubs in Croatia and most of all the Vatreni.

Only an idiot would praise, defend, or excuse a guy like Mamic or corrupt members of Hajduk.

Be fair and use your common sense.

  10. Lovro says:

Kvartuc – give up the sacrificial lamb moniker you’ve given yourself.

Hate to break this to you, but, this website or anything you said or wrote had nothing to do with Croatia’s success in 2018.

Jesus Christ, that’s right out of the Donald Trump narcissistic personality disorder playbook.

    You are embarrassing yourself.

  11. Dannyj says:

I get it the hatred toward each other
I don’t agree but I get there needs to be rivalries
But still support Croatian teams always

Such a small and unique country but this inner fighting is a big reason the country is not further ahead

I see some videos where the boys are hanging out and having a good time
They need this they are brothers and together they will fight
We expect a lot from the boys. I think they do as well
I expect them to leave it out on the field in split!

There was some talk About Hajduk being pissy at the repka
    Get over it
If you bring up some studs they will get to play

  12. The ghost of Petar Svačić says:

My people stop this division. I am not sure what this sport of kicking a cantalope is but it shouldn’t divide us. Remember I died for you.

  13. Slavonac from Canada says:

Lovro, I’ve been reading the news recently. My comments were sincere, not baiting. Apparently there’s some type of protest by Hajduk’s uprava and there’s been some question whether certain Hajduk fans are going to attend.

I’m not sure how I can be dividing people when the last time our team played there we saw a major incident and nobody was ever charged for that? I’m simply making an honest statement, hoping no loonies try to sabotage the team…isn’t that a fair comment?

  14. Lovro says:

Dalić: Hrvatska nikad nije igrala u boljoj atmosferi

Going to start holding some of you accountable. Starting
with Slavonac and the title of this thread.

  15. Anonymous says:

@”Slavonac”, typical Canadian supports putting people in jail for mowing a swastika into a lawn, calls it a “major incident”. “Slavonic” wouldn’t know freedom/free speech if it knocked him upside his head.

And of course he has no problem with the communist symbols we see at soccer matches all the time. Never mind communists were murdering people by the tens of millions before, during AND after (“in peace time”) WW2; and UNLIKE the nazis, everyone of their countries needed walls and armed guard to prevent people from escaping by the tens of millions.

If “Slavonic” lived during Jesus’ time you know he would have supported torturing and killing him for his speech the way everyone else did.

  16. Anonymous says:

“If “Slavonic” lived during Jesus’ time you know he would have supported torturing and killing him for his speech the way everyone else did.”

Croats are communists so all Croats woulda supported it as well, just like Croats all support abortion.

  17. Anonymous says:

@anonymous who made the last comment at 7:41PM; what does abortion have to do with free speech for white people?

If you outlawed discussion of anything that had been horribly misused in history, every cross would have to be taken from every church.

  18. Anonymous says:

So what do the abortion laws have to do with free speech for white people you ask?
It has to do with me, a white person, using my free speech to show that all you new Croats/communists are just like @Slavonac from Canada when it comes to your comment about Jesus Christ.

    Like Saint Augustine said,

“Let then the Kings of the earth shew themselves the servants of Christ by publishing laws in Christ’s behalf.”
    – Saint Augustine

In whose behalf are the abortion laws (and many other anti-Christian laws) in Croatia published, God’s or mammon’s?

    Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one, and love the other: or he will sustain the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Lol, Kolinda (globalist) can’t serve God and mammon, or, maybe you simple minded Croats believe she can lol? If you “Croats” believe she can then what does that make you “Croats”? I would say it makes you “Croats” perverse.

So the question has to be asked,

    Job 34:30
Who maketh a man that is a hypocrite to reign for the sins of the people?

In another place it is most unambiguously said of God, that He “makes the man who is an hypocrite to reign on account of the perversity of the people.” [Job 34:30]
    – Saint Augustine
The City of God – Book V Chapter 19

Woe to Kolinda, for she is a punishement sent by God to you “Croats.”

Lol at Miroslav Skoro as well, another globalist pro EU loser, pretending to be the desnica in Croatia.

Real Deal Croats like me, Croats that are deeply rooted in Croatian history know that Croatia is the most deceitful nation in the world, even @Elvis has said about you new Croats that you lie and that Kolinda is a hypocrite, that’s something that me and @Elvis can agree on.

Oh how you new Croats do lie.

And lol how about those guys talking about Petar Svacic, I mean what’s he got to do with Croatia today, he was a Catholic for crying out loud, and the “Croats” today are mammon serving.
Your history stars from ’91 ya muppets.

Why are you “Croats” building mosques for antichrist Mohammedans, one in Sisak no less?
You “Croats” are different to those Croats that battled at Sisak!

Nema te ideje budućnosti, koja bi u narodnim redovima mogla imati snagu prošlosti.
    – Milan Šufflay

Are “Croats” today stronger than those that battled at Sisak?

Lol, stop pretending to be something you aint.

What in God’s name was that tome of a rant? What does abortion have to do with free speech for white people? Just be HONEST and say ‘nothing’. What does difference do abortion laws make if there’s no more white people? Would you want to born into a brown world? Follow the Golden Rule bro.
