In an absurd scheduling fixture, where the Spanish FA have not only increased the number of SuperCopa teams to four; but also moved the 4-team mini-tournament to Saudi Arabia, Luka Modrić scored a fantastic “inside out” goal as Real Madrid defeated Valencia 3-1 to reach the Final.
Modrić got the start and played 77 minutes in the win but has become quite the cheeky goal scorer in his old age. Modrić could not spell “G-O-A-L” while at Tottenham and early in his career at Real Madrid, but has now learned to rip goals from outside the box on top of what he did Wednesday night in the SuperCopa semifinal. The man is entering the twilight of his career. Enjoy these moments while they last.
Real Madrid will play the winner of the Barcelona/Atletico Madrid semifinal January 12th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for the Spanish SuperCopa crown.
A true legend! He will be remembered as one of the great midfielders of our time. I’m just so glad that we have had the privilege to watch him play for Croatia as long as he has.
It’s crazy that he will actually be starting in the next World Cup too
But Kroos gets the headlines for a shitty goal from the corner???
Pity.
Beautiful goal and true highlight reap material. The fact that he is shooting more is great to see ahead of the Euro.
Class act and then to think some tried
To soil his name. ZDS!
The man is getting better with age just like pirlo
