Croatia’s handball team won a true barn-burner of a match Saturday night against Germany; scraping by 25-24 to book a semifinal berth.

Down five goals in the second half, the ‘Croatian Cowboys’ rallied back in Vienna despite things not going their way in the goal post department. Igor Karačić led Croatia with seven goals tonight and goalie Marin Šego made an incredible save as time expired on the match to secure the win for Croatia.

For the first 40 minutes of the match, it looked as if Germany would catch Croatia on a bad night and get procure a huge handball upset. However, Croatia wouldn’t go away and muscled back in the last quarter of the match.

I know many of you aren’t handball fans, but this game had everything. The fans were into it from the beginning. Croatian players were visibly emotional throughout the entire game. The last two minutes were epic!

    Love our fluid handball flow.

Speaking of fluid .. Modrić :

A change of gear in the final third from the Croatian made the difference for Madrid. A crucial part in the home side’s win.

This dude with the right minutes has two more years at this world class level!

Definitely will be ready for June.

Please DO NOT call him up in March.

Did you see that Cowboy score that reverse shot! There needs to be a name for that shot. I vote for Reverse Cowboy

Yessss Rebić, should be a huge confidence booster too. If Rebić can go into the Euro hot, that would be huge for us

  4. Kruno says:

Rebić MOTM but all I’m reading is how Zlatan inspired confidence in this AC side …you just can’t win ante.

  5. Maminjo says:

Maybe Rebić is happy to have a Dalmatinac (even if Zlatan is just half Dalmatinac) to chill out with after these games.

From what I recall during Rebić’s time with Fiorentina, he didn’t really like Italy and he thought everyone was stupid over there (I remember he was openly bashing Italians on his Facebook account).

He seems like a no nonsense type of tough guy. I can see him and Zlatan getting along. I absolutely cannot see him getting along with Donnarumma, Hernandez, and all these other guys who spend more time dying their hair than anything else.

Watch there be another case of locker room division between Croats/Central Europeans versus Italians/South Americans like it was at Inter, haha.

  7. Soul Champ says:

Ante Rebic: Finally things are coming together for Rebic. He had a sensational match and seems to be the answer right now for the left flank. If Rebic can keep this up then it will help Milan in a massive way. 7.5/10

  8. BZ says:

@Soul-Rebic was always their answer. To be honest, I already know Rebic is great, so I almost wish they kept him on the bench to prevent an injury before Euros.
