The Vatreni have finally cooled down. After weeks of Brekalo and Rebić scoring, there wasn’t much action this weekend. Luka Modrić had a glimmer of a highlight on Sunday as his Real Madrid side lost 2-1 to Real Betis; relinquishing first place in La Liga back to Barcelona. Modrić played 79 minutes and left with the game tied at 1-1, however made a fantastic run down field to defend an otherwise 2-on-0 Betis attack. At 34 years young, Modrić is still pulling new tricks out of the bag.
34 years old by the way https://t.co/LgyCM8Hm4C

Ivan Rakitić got the start and played 74 minutes in Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad Saturday. Barca now have a two-point lead over Real Madrid. Šime Vrsaljko remained on the bench for Atletico in a 2-2 draw vs. Sevilla. With Kieran Trippier back on the Atletico squad, how much time will Vrsaljko get down the stretch?
Ante Rebić and AC Milan missed a fantastic chance to keep their momentum going in a 2-1 loss to Genoa behind closed doors Sunday. All Serie A matches will be played behind closed doors in March due to the coronavirus. Rebić got the start and played 57 minutes in the loss. Marcelo Brozović played the full 90 minutes and received a yellow card in a 2-0 loss to leaders Juventus. Inter Milan now sit nine points behind Juventus.
Josip Brekalo and Wolfsburg played out a scoreless match against 2nd place RB Leipzig. Brekalo played 77 minutes in the draw. Andrej Kramarić played 90 minutes in Hoffenheim’s 1-1 draw vs. Schalke. Kramarić had cooled off in recent weeks.
Modrić and Rakitić should both go Serie A. One to Inter and one to Juventus. Inter has tons of young talent in midfield that can run for them. Juve could sign them both as they have Bentancur who can play the Brozović role, but I doubt they would want to sign two older midfielders.
Modrić played well today again.
Man Real Madrid have a lot scrubs.
Also why does Zidane play Kroos with Modrić ?
It makes Luka rum extra for his one dimensional right foot.
Where is Luka the bust NOvic?
Gareth Baled?
Benzema hasn’t scored from open play since last year and if Modrić is not in the middle then I’ll just assist a break away .. to Betis!!
Vasquez ?? Does that dude do anything when he starts?
Funny how the media and some folks here bang on Modrić for losing a step when his 34 year old legs have to sprint 60 meters to protect the goal.
I wish Luka to go some place with a stable of young talent that he can create his magic with.
Or yeah that is our beloved Vatreni 2020!!
As long as those fans have nothing bad to say about the Chinese. Cant mess with Mebrons cash flow.
Look at the great MeBron.
He won’t play without fans. The fans are who he plays for! Not the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers.
These closed door serie a games are tough to watch.. I wish they would come up with a more creative way to handle this shit out. Hopefully inter-juve is a bit more intense.
Rebic would probably shake off the Coronavirus in a day.
People forget that Ante Rebic had mononucleosis a few years ago, which is a disease that has ended many athlete’s careers (Mario Ancic is an example of someone who could never recover from it).
Rebic needs to follow Boban and get out of Milan to avoid COVID-19. You know a guy like him is probably out model chasing every night.
And brekalo was a non factor.
@BZ
I’m sure everyone is a Rebic fan when he puts on the checkers.
I’m also sure what you meant to say is, that you’re the biggest Rebic fan in the world, no one is a bigger Rebic fan than you.
Maybe he’s pissed off about Bobane
^^did some more digging, and confirmed it is just a rumor.
Probably just a rumor, but ppl are saying Rebic is refusing to play vs Genoa in front of an empty stadium.
You guys know I am a Rebic fan, but if this is true, I’d have to say he is a douchebag with an inferior and significantly warped brain.
More importantly how is Caleta Car’s wife?
Halilovic always had the skill he just didn’t feel like it.
That’s how Gods are but no doubt he will lead us to
Glory.
Well just found out Kova injury is not that bad at all and Perisic is back at training next week
Things are looking brighter than it did last week
All we need now is Pjaca Halilovic Benkovic and krovinovic to take the next step up and we are on fire
Hopefully all of these planets align for us
Is Caleta-Car injured he didn’t play in marseille draw
Maybe the god will become legit…. here’s hoping
Yes sounds like lots of solid players coming up
Hopefully one or two or more can be world class one day
The future is bright
And…Halilovic just choked an easy tap in. His tap in shot hit his standing foot. Pretty bad miss, but it happens. Still doing well. At least he was able to make the run to get that open.
I haven’t seen too much of Josip Misic, but he’s alright in my opinion. Probably not national team quality, but could end up being one of those guys who makes the 23 man squad at some point. LOTS of competition coming up though. I can add him to the stats sheet as he’s still 25. I think the absolute cutoff is going to be 26. Once people turn 27 I’ll probably remove them.
Also, I’m watching this Heerenveen vs. Ajax game on ESPN+ and Halilovic is genuinely doing pretty well. Played some nice passes, nearly got an assist on a long ball with the outside of the boot and had one of those cut in shots blocked.
Vuki
What’s up with this Josip misic dude at paok?
His highlights look impressive enough
He is 24 tho
Prob not national team quality

Fuck the wops
Boban will get his time somewhere else
Hopefully Rebić leaves and then they go downhill without Croats
Bummer. Was enjoying following AC again. Fuck em now. Hope Rebic leaves too.

Wolfsburg is over… 0-0 vs rb leipzig..
Halilovic starting vs Ajax on espn+ at 11:45, he’s been tending in the right direction, should have his biggest test of the year so far!
What time is the Wolfsburg game? I want to see if Brekalo can keep up his hot streak and produce vs a top team like Leipzig. He hasn’t scored against anybody but a bottom dweller (at club level) in almost 3 years.
And I updated the stats spreadsheet yesterday:

So where does Modrić go?
AC Milan is definitely out of the question now (as it should be).
Inter wants him badly, and will make him an offer for sure. Juve will make an offer too, as Modrić going to Inter would tip the scales.
Either ONE (Inter or Juve) is a good move. Hopefully not the MLS though. I’d rather he stay at Real, than waste his career in the US.

Luka Modrić = Legend.
She has been mentioned her before. She is super hot.
Yea her dad is a Pittsburgh Croat.
She’s one of those rare gems who managed to get both the athletic and feminine genes at the same time.
I would not mind having a round of golf with her
Seen Paige Spiranac in the news lately over here a nbr of times, man what a Hrvat honey she is!
