Help Croatian Earthquake Victims In Their Recovery Efforts

December 29, 2020

CroatianSports has set up a GoFundMe account.

UPDATE: It is now being reported as of 3AM (ET) 12/30/2020 that another 4.8 earthquake has hit the Petrinja region for a third straight day.

A 6.3 earthquake hit Croatia hard Tuesday, December 29, 2020, just outside of Zagreb. It’s the second earthquake to hit northern Croatia this week. Half of Petrinja has been destroyed and at least seven people have been killed. Hundreds of residents have been displaced making them afraid to sleep indoors as emergency teams search for those still missing by nightfall. Buses have been brought in so the elderly have somewhere to sleep while many hospital patients are being shipped to safer locations in nearby Zagreb due to the fact that larger buildings are unsafe to be occupied in Petrinja and Sisak.

All donations with be sent to the Croatian Red Cross to aid in recovery efforts.

Dejan Lovren has offered shelter to 16 families displaced by the earthquake at his hotel on Pag, Daily Mail reports.

Especially if you’ve kept your job during covid, time to step up and put your money where your mouth is. This is exactly what the ZDS lifestyle is all about. Thanks for organizing Ante. This is big stuff your doing.

  2. BEĆAR says:

    Great idea Ante!
Maybe Zvone can share some of his €5+million windfall😂 I really hope that AC Milan lose the inevitable appeal.

  3. Rafael says:

@Becar- Yea man happy zorro won that $$$

Gazidis was a snake for going behind his back. Milan are in 1st because of Zvone. He recruited Ibra, Rebic, Theo and Bennacer.

  4. Suba says:

    Modric on the scoresheet again

    Somebody stop this man

Playing well too tracking back to defend

    He is doing it all

Not sure how real will cope after 2022

    @ Svima

If you have not done so, please give what ever you can to support the GoFundMe for the Croatia Red Cross.

    @ Suba

Real Modrić will never be again.

We just need to enjoy the ride.

35, first to the ball, explosive header, placed like a heat seeking missile into the upper right corner.

That Elche goalie was a monster brick wall as well.

  6. Mr. Black says:

    Great job, Ante.

  7. Suba says:

Apparently it was his first header goal in 12 years

He had some fantastic runs today and sublime control

Modric is out of this world

I really think he can go until 40 at this rate

I am really proud of the Croatian diaspora

Always have been there and we are still there with our old homeland

    @ Suba

Well said about both Modrić i dijaspora.

There is a synergy between us all.

There are so few of us walking the earth.

We need to help when needed and support one another always.

    ⭐ STAR MAN

    Luka Modric: 8.3

In a match that was entirely devoid of any attacking intent from Real Madrid, Zidane will be counting his blessings for the performance Luka Modric put in throughout this difficult away match.

The Croatian midfielder was on hand in the 20th minute when he rose higher than any nearby opponent and headed home a rebound that went straight into the top right corner, despite the best efforts of the Elche goalkeeper.

Indeed, no Madrid player hit more shots than Modric on the night and none hit more shots on target either. In a game that the capital side will happily forget in a hurry, it’s undoubtedly worth noting that the 35-year-old midfield maestro was once again on hand to at least salvage a point.

  10. Poor boy says:

Unfortunately I cannot send any money to the Red Cross because they’re a protestant organisation and I question their aims.
But, will all the commie Croatian politicians combine to give as much as Michael Schumacher did to the 2004 tsunami appeal, it is a great time for them to give back to a people that have given them so much for so little in return?

    Bog i Hrvati

  11. BEĆAR says:

Luka Modric —8: The most active midfielder tonight and always looked to move the team forward. Another strong performance for the entire 90 mins. Scored a diving header to give Real the lead. Later placed an inch-perfect cross in the 89th minute but Benzema couldn’t make the most of it. Finished with two shots and two dribbles.

  12. Dannyj says:

    Any video of the goal?

  13. Soul Champ says:

Did Vrsaljko get the start for first place Athletico ?

  14. gbvh says:

Modric goal here (he helps in buildup too):

And yes Vrsaljko started (I had posted in thread below).

  15. Soul Champ says:

    Šime Vrsaljko
A solid re-introduction to the starting XI after Kieran Trippier’s ban. Atlético Madrid did their best to protect him and that stunted their usual lively right-hand side, but Vrsaljko was good — though not ambitious in his attacking. Went off after 55 minutes and didn’t do much wrong — 6.

    Healthy Vrsaljko in ‘21?

  16. Suba says:

God it was nice to see Sime back playing for 57 minutes

It was like seeing a dear long lost friend again
