Petković Scores Twice As Dinamo Beat Krasnodar 3-2 On The Road

February 18, 2021

It was a back and forth match in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32 but Dinamo got the job done with three important away goals; two coming from Croatian international Bruno Petković. The return leg takes place next week in Zagreb with Dinamo in full control. More to come shortly…

Dinamo Zagreb and Europa League return Thursday as the reigning Croatian champs travel to Russia to take on Krasnodar in the Round of 32. Dinamo topped their Europa League group in the fall alongside Wolfsberger, Feyenoord, and CSKA Moscow. Krasnodar finished third in Champions League behind Chelsea and Sevilla.

The draw was kind to Dinamo as Krasnodar haven’t played a competitive match since mid-December due to the Russian winter break. They should get past the Russian side with Mislav Oršić leading the way in attack; looking to increase his value in front of a possible summer transfer.

Dinamo last made a run in Europa League two seasons ago when they lost to Benfica in extra time in the Round of 16. There’s no reason this team can’t make the last 16 as well.

Expect a low scoring affair in Russia. Prediction: Dinamo get the all important away goal during the first leg in a  1-1 draw.

Expected Line Up (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Kalulu, Tomori, Romagnoli, Hernandez, Bennacer, Meite, Castillejo, Krunic, Rebic, Mandzukic.

    Milanic Vatreni2 !

  2. CiganJeCigan says:

gvardiol rookie mistake, worse clearance than strinic vs belgium

  3. Mark says:

    Watching red star/Milan game instead

  4. CiganJeCigan says:

petkovic insane dribbling skills! juked 3 defenders that lead to dinamos 3rd goal

  5. Anonymous says:

Serbs booing Mandzukic when he came off… losers

  6. Mr. Black says:

What a game by Petkovic. He was world class today. The first goal he made a steal to win the ball in the midfield and… was the one who scored in the end.
    Second goal was easy.
Third goal, he did the setup.
Daily should really consider Petkovic-Kramaric as the two strikers. Imagine Kramaric wandering around Petkovic to clinically finish his passes.

The entire team did well. Gvardiol’s mistake costs us their first goal. I already saw him play much better than today but showed some class. I only think that Euro 2021 will be too soon for him.

  7. Eric says:

    Milan midfield looked terrible.

  8. Maminjo says:

Pfft. Like Lovren would’ve done better. 😉
    Start Gvardiol. Ditch Lovren.

  9. Maminjo says:

    Yea, Petkovic’s dribbling is elite.
So is Krama’s dribbling, along with his finishing.
It would be fun to try those two out at the same time. Just give them the green light to dribble around the opposing defenders. Would be entertaining at least.

  10. Dannyj says:

And let rebic and perisic do the pressing?
I suppose it’s the style we choose to play if karma and petko both on the field
It seems like when petko gives a shit he is as good as many top players
I don’t support him but hard to get up to play varazdin or whatever bottom cellar team with like 2k people watching you

  11. Dannyj says:

    I meant I don’t support his don’t try mentality
Maybe he is just that guy that wants to do well on the big stage and his biggest stage for now is for the repka

  12. Mr. Black says:

Barisic played an excellent game against Antwerp. He was responsible for Antwerp’s first goal (didn’t mark his man well) but converted two penalties (one was caused because one of his dangerous crosses). He also produced some other excellent crosses into the box but his teammates failed to score. Apart from his faut at Antwerp’s first goal, he was defensively okay.

Petkovic got a 9,9 score on I think even Messi and Ronaldo barely ever got a score that high.

  13. Dannyj says:

I know we have the young LBs
But I do think barisic will be our choice going into euro
He has played consistently at higher level
Yes it’s in Scottish league but has had nuff games against other quality European teams

  14. Poglavnik says:

Barisic with 2 pk goals?! Cool

  15. Soul Champ says:

Petković and Barišić win the day.

My heart went out to Sučić today.

We are late bloomers as a people.

He looks 15, I mean that in a good way.

He is no where near his man body.

The occasion seemed a bit too big today.

    He will learn.

Good for him for the experience.

  16. CroatiaU14 says:

Sučić is the future. 96% passing against a pretty good La Liga team. Nothing to be ashamed of

  17. Maminjo says:

What formation does Tuchel play at Chelsea?
Kovačić seems to keep getting praise and I don’t think they play a 4-3-3 anymore.
    Anyone catch any Chelsea games?
Gasp! Can Kovačić be playable for us one day?

  18. Maminjo says:

    How did Sučić play?
. rated him as the fourth best player on his team.

  19. Dannyj says:

Sucic is gonna be the goods one day
It’s like we wait for kovacic what seems to be decades now

I guess karma is our official pk taker now
    Then what barisic;)?
He has actually hit some decent free kicks in the past no?

  20. Soul Champ says:

Barišić has made the money move of being on a club that allows him to be the alpha.

He takes all the free kicks and PK’s.

The ball seems to flow to him on over lapping runs.

He whips in crosses all day.

He has the opportunity to have big moments from all the responsibilities he is given by Gerard.

That was a crazy win from Rangers.

  21. ARMADA87 says:

Kudos to Petkovic and Dinamo. Big win yesterday.
I just want to see more consistency from him. He obviously turned it on during qualifiers and ended up being our best striker of the cycle (and leading the qualifying group in goals) but he kind of dissapeared during his club season. And there are back stories with that, of course..
Hope he’s on the upswing here; finishes the league year strong and helps DZG make more noise in Europa League and is in form come this summer for the Euro.
If we can have him, Kramaric and Perisic in form, we’ll be in good shape up front come tournament time.

  22. Eric says:

    Serbs are a classy bunch:

Sramota za Srbiju: Poslušajte kako su degutantno vrijeđali Zlatana Ibrahimovića u Beogradu—640717.html?itm_source=HomeReadThis&itm_medium=Dnevnik&itm_campaign=Naslovnica

“Sjedi dolje, Zlatane, je*at ću ti majku. Pi*ko jedna. Balijo jedan smrdljivi, u usta te je*em”, čulo se s tribina Marakane.

  23. ARMADA87 says:

randomly was watching this goal from 2002…
I know Drago Cosic is ‘the voice’ of the NT, but man did Bozo have some zingers back in the day hahah

  24. Poglavnik says:

Ha! Thats a great call and goal.
Still remember going ape shit in the middle of the night after that one.

  25. Markus says:

I’d love to see Petko and Krama together against Slovenia… hopefully Dalic tries them out together.

  26. Suba says:

    Srbi na Vrbi
They are such dickheads and as usual making friends
Zlatan would have Kung fud that Cedo if he had a chance
How is their politically motivated Dora iz Jasenovac going too
    Is getting backlash too
You can see right through them
    Anyway I digress
Wow what a performance by petka
If he keeps this up he will take over from krama
I still can’t explain what happened at the 02 WC
We beat Italy but couldn’t beat ecuador weird hey

  27. BEĆAR says:

Another seemingly poor substitute performance from Brekalo today. His Euro 2020 hopes are unquestionably fading.

  28. Anonymous says:

The Deutschland, err I mean Wolfsburg bench, err I mean auslanders were on the bench the whole game against a bottom table team.

Little does he know the greatest and most accomplished Wolfsburg players left the club before their greatest achievements. Wolfsburg is a stepping stone with no serious potential for trophies.

The Bundesliga should be avoided for repka players although their teams can never win a treble without repka…

  29. Anonymous says:

Never forget that Mandzukic was benched deliberately so he did not get the Bundesliga top scorer trophy. The Polish are the weakest Slavs.

  30. Poglavnik says:

We’ll see how much the Reprezentacija values him. He’s not doing himself any favours.

  31. Maminjo says:

Serbian directors are oddly attracted to making snuff type films, that are disturbing with perverted pedophilic and necrophilic elements.

Not sure why they’re like that. This Jasenovac film is like that. There was that other recent one called “Srpski Film” and it was just as messed up.

These are pretty famous directors (and actors) in these films too, so it’s not like it’s some random guy. Nobody likes these films, and they get panned across the board from anyone outside of Serbia. Yet they get some decent reviewed within Serbia lol.
Very weird and messed up lol.

  32. BEĆAR says:
Looks like Vrsaljko is injured again. Are we at the point that we have to stop counting on him and need to look elsewhere?

  33. Dannyj says:

    Man sime

Let’s just say he can’t go for us
Who do we use at rb?
Don’t say tin jedvaj… speaking of what’s he doing?

Can bradaric or sosa take the right side if need be?

  34. Anonymous says:

Serbs are well below Polish in terms of genetics.

  35. Suba says:

Hrvati are by far the most superior Slavs
    Za dom spremni
Remember that saviour movie I think it was the same cedo director
He made only one scene involving the HVO which completely unrelated to the plot of the whole film and it was the worst scene with the mallet incident
Every non Balkan person who watched that movie would ask which side did that scene or killings
I would reluctantly answer say it was the Croats but would explain the history of the conflict to them
To say the least that Serbian director is a disgrace along with the film academy of Serbia and their guild of actors
If they want to bring on another war
    Bring it on

  36. Markus says:

It’s not necessarily an injury, they said he had a discomfort. Hopefully they are just taking extra careful precaution with him due to his obviously injury plagued past. For now, let’s assume the best case which is just him feeling discomfort and not wanting to push it.
Uremovic was pretty decent in the euros, miles ahead of Jedvaj and Juranovic in my opinion. Sosa has played on the RWB and RM positions a few times for Stuttgart, maybe he could play there if Vrsaljko is out? Would be worth a shot to try him out. I’d say worst case we start Uremovic.

  37. Poglavnik says:

Maradona by Kusturica is the biggest piece of shit ive ever watched

  38. BEĆAR says:

The fact that “muscle discomfort” is keeping him out is cause for concern. Most players play through muscle discomfort. The fact that he won’t even be on the bench scares me. That means that the issue is serious enough that there’s no chance they’d risk him playing. It’s not like he’s been playing a lot lately either.

  39. Maminjo says:

Just sit him until the Euros and roid him up until then. We just need to get a few games out of him, and then he can go back to being injured again.
At least it’s not his knee again.

  40. Maminjo says:

Yea I remember that movie with Dennis Quaid. Stupid movie.
But lately, Serbs have been churning out a lot of garbage… And they are embarrassing themselves.
We’re talking about raping daughters and dead bodies. Stupid fucked up shit, completely unnecessary to the plot. Not sure why any self respecting Serb actor would take part in these films, but it’s actually their top actors lol.
Even the Jasenovac film had to include weird sexual scenes, of Ujo chicks getting off on torture, lol.
If you want to make an anti Croatia film, fine, but I’m curious as to why Serbs are suddenly so attracted to necrophilia and incest.
You’d never see a film like that made in Croatia, with an actor like Višnjić (or even Šerbeđija) starring in it. It’s degrading and humiliating. It’s no wonder Šerbeđija sticks to living in Croatia and avoiding the Serb films altogether.

I’m sure zlatan..was expecting something from the cetnik tard miscreants..and that donkey cetnik film director s trying to sue los angeles newspaper which stated basically the film was nationalistic crap!!! Every year goes by I see how much the cedos..are sicker than I imagined.

  42. Anonymous says:

Man you guys are blatant hypocrites, all you do is talk shit about Serbians on this site, say terrible things about Serbians. Then when a Serbian makes an anti-Muslim comment at a soccer game, you get all up in arms and say that THAT makes THEM terrible people. And if that isn’t bad enough, after your hypocrisy has undeniably been pointed out, you STILL continue with the same old shit hypocrisy, just as pathological liars do.

You are on a site called ‘Croatian’ sports, you claim to be loyal to Croatians – that’s “NATIONALISTIC” you two faced moron. Yet, you (Anonymous 2/19/21 8:55pm) repeat a term used by the enemies of the Croatian nation and all white nations: “nationalistic crap”. My God you are stupid!

    @Racist cetnik
Listen idiot, I’ve explained this before, a balija is a Mohammedan with one of those big beards that some have, and in winter when they get runny noses their snot/bale freezes up on their beards, and because of that they got the name balija.
So you see that the Serbs are morons for calling clean shaven Zlatan a “balija” even if he is a Mohammedan.
